Osiander, Johann Adam (2),
a German philologist and theologian, son of the preceding, was born at Tubingen in 1701. He became professor of Greek in the university of that city, and died there Nov. 20, 1756. He wrote a number of essays on questions of philology, literature, and philosophy. The best-known among them is entitled De imnmortalitate animne rationalis, ex lumine rationis probabili (Tubing. 1732, 4to). See J. G. Walchius, Bibl. theol. selecta; Hoefer, Nouv. Biog.
