(Heb. Yiriyah', יַרְאַיָּיה , seen by Jehovah; Sept. Σαρουϊ v ας, Vulg. Jerias), son of Shelemiah, and a captain of the ward at the gate of Benjamin, who arrested the prophet Jeremiah on the pretence that he was deserting to the Chaldaeans (Jeremiah 37:13-14). B.C. 589.
