Cyclopedia of Biblical, Theological and Ecclesiastical Literature

(only in the plural לֻלָאוֹת, lulaoth', windings; Sept. (ἄγκυλαι, Vulg. ansulae), an attachment or knotted "eye," probably of cord, corresponding to the knobs or "taches" (קְרָסַים ) in the edges of the curtains of the tabernacle for joining them into a continuous circuit, fifty to a curtain, and formed of blue material (Exodus 26:4-5; Exodus 26:10-11; Exodus 36:11-12; Exodus 36:17).
