that the word

’ê·lî·yā·hū,

אֵ֣לִיָּ֔הוּ

haš·šə·lî·šîṯ

הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֖ית

and I will send

wə·’et·tə·nāh

hā·’ă·ḏā·māh.

’ê·lî·yā·hū,

אֵֽלִיָּ֔הוּ

lə·hê·rā·’ō·wṯ

wə·hā·rā·‘āḇ

[there was] And a very

bə·šō·mə·rō·wn.

בְּשֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃

‘ō·ḇaḏ·yā·hū

עֹבַדְיָ֖הוּ

[his] of house

wə·‘ō·ḇaḏ·yā·hū,

וְעֹבַדְיָ֗הוּ

בְּהַכְרִ֣ית

[so] when Jezebel

the prophets

‘ō·ḇaḏ·yā·hū

עֹבַדְיָ֜הוּ

and hid them

way·yaḥ·bî·’êm

וַֽיַּחְבִּיאֵ֞ם

bam·mə·‘ā·rāh,

בַּמְּעָרָ֔ה

and fed them

wə·ḵil·kə·lām

וְכִלְכְּלָ֖ם

‘ō·ḇaḏ·yā·hū,

עֹ֣בַדְיָ֔הוּ

into the land

han·nə·ḥā·lîm;

הַנְּחָלִ֑ים

and to save the horses and mules alive

ū·nə·ḥay·yeh

of the livestock

mê·hab·bə·hê·māh.

מֵהַבְּהֵמָֽה׃

so they divided

way·ḥal·lə·qū

וַֽיְחַלְּק֥וּ

between them to pass

wə·‘ō·ḇaḏ·yā·hū

וְעֹֽבַדְיָ֛הוּ

‘ō·ḇaḏ·yā·hū

עֹבַדְיָ֙הוּ֙

and he knew him

way·yak·ki·rê·hū

וַיַּכִּרֵ֙הוּ֙

’ê·lî·yā·hū.

אֵלִיָּֽהוּ׃

And he answered

to your master

’ê·lî·yā·hū.

אֵלִיָּֽהוּ׃

have I sinned

would deliver

your servant

into the hand

la·hă·mî·ṯê·nî.

לַהֲמִיתֵֽנִי׃

[As] the LORD

’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā,

ū·mam·lā·ḵāh

וּמַמְלָכָה֙

lə·ḇaq·qeš·ḵā,

לְבַקֶּשְׁךָ֔

when they said

do [there] he took an oath

wə·hiš·bî·a‘

וְהִשְׁבִּ֤יעַ

of the kingdom

ham·mam·lā·ḵāh

הַמַּמְלָכָה֙

do they found

yim·ṣā·’ek·kāh.

יִמְצָאֶֽכָּה׃

to your master

’ê·lî·yā·hū.

אֵלִיָּֽהוּ׃

And it shall come to pass

that the Spirit

shall carry you

yiś·śā·’ă·ḵā

יִֽשָּׂאֲךָ֙

[so] when I come

yim·ṣā·’ă·ḵā

יִֽמְצָאֲךָ֖

you he shall slay

wa·hă·rā·ḡā·nî;

וַהֲרָגָ֑נִי

but I your servant

wə·‘aḇ·də·ḵā

וְעַבְדְּךָ֛

from my youth

min·nə·‘u·rāy.

מִנְּעֻרָֽי׃

to my master

when Jezebel

the prophets

and how I hid

min·nə·ḇî·’ê

מִנְּבִיאֵ֨י

bam·mə·‘ā·rāh,

בַּמְּעָרָ֔ה

and fed them

wā·’ă·ḵal·kə·lêm

וָאֲכַלְכְּלֵ֖ם

to your master

לַֽאדֹנֶ֖יךָ

’ê·lî·yā·hū;

[is here] and he shall slay

wa·hă·rā·ḡā·nî.

וַהֲרָגָֽנִי׃

’ê·lî·yā·hū,

אֵֽלִיָּ֔הוּ

[As] the LORD

ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ,

‘ō·ḇaḏ·yā·hū

עֹבַדְיָ֛הוּ

way·yag·geḏ-

’ê·lî·yā·hū.

אֵלִיָּֽהוּ׃

And it came to pass

’ê·lî·yā·hū;

he who [are]

יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

And he answered

עָכַ֙רְתִּי֙

of but you and your father

in that you have forsaken

ba·‘ă·zā·ḇə·ḵem

בַּֽעֲזָבְכֶם֙

the commands

and you have followed

hab·bə·‘ā·lîm.

הַבְּעָלִֽים׃

therefore send

hak·kar·mel;

the prophets

wa·ḥă·miš·šîm,

וַחֲמִשִּׁ֗ים

and the prophets

of the groves

hā·’ă·šê·rāh

הָֽאֲשֵׁרָה֙

of at Jezebel

וַיִּשְׁלַ֥ח

the children

and together

וַיִּקְבֹּ֥ץ

the prophets

han·nə·ḇî·’îm

הַנְּבִיאִ֖ים

hak·kar·mel.

הַכַּרְמֶֽל׃

has·sə·‘ip·pîm

הַסְּעִפִּים֒

the LORD [are]

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm

הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙

And the people

אֵלִיָּ֙הוּ֙

[even] remain

נוֹתַ֧רְתִּי

and prophets

wa·ḥă·miš·šîm

וַחֲמִשִּׁ֖ים

and Let them therefore give

wə·yit·tə·nū-

and let them choose

wə·yiḇ·ḥă·rū

וְיִבְחֲר֣וּ

and cut it in pieces

wî·nat·tə·ḥu·hū,

וִֽינַתְּחֻ֗הוּ

and lay [it]

וְיָשִׂ֙ימוּ֙

[under] will dress

and lay [it]

wə·nā·ṯat·tî

וְנָֽתַתִּי֙

of your gods

’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem,

אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֗ם

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm;

And answered

way·yō·mə·rū

וַיֹּאמְר֖וּ

to the prophets

and dress [it]

of your gods

’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem,

And they took

and they dressed [it]

way·ya·‘ă·śū

וַֽיַּעֲשׂוּ֒

way·yiq·rə·’ū

וַיִּקְרְא֣וּ

from morning

mê·hab·bō·qer

and even until

haṣ·ṣā·ho·ra·yim

הַצָּהֳרַ֤יִם

any that answered

And they leaped

way·p̄as·sə·ḥū,

וַֽיְפַסְּח֔וּ

ham·miz·bê·aḥ

הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ

And it came to pass

ḇaṣ·ṣā·ho·ra·yim

בַֽצָּהֳרַ֜יִם

that Elijah them

’ê·lî·yā·hū,

out with a loud

he is talking

he is pursuing

he is on a journey

[or] suppose

and must be awoke

And they cried

way·yiq·rə·’ū

וַֽיִּקְרְאוּ֙

way·yiṯ·gō·ḏə·ḏū

וַיִּתְגֹּֽדְדוּ֙

after their manner

kə·miš·pā·ṭām,

כְּמִשְׁפָּטָ֔ם

ba·ḥă·rā·ḇō·wṯ

בַּחֲרָב֖וֹת

ū·ḇā·rə·mā·ḥîm;

וּבָֽרְמָחִ֑ים

And it came to pass

haṣ·ṣā·ho·ra·yim,

הַֽצָּהֳרַ֔יִם

and they prophesied

way·yiṯ·nab·bə·’ū,

וַיִּֽתְנַבְּא֔וּ

[time] of the offering

[evening] of the [evening] sacrifice

ham·min·ḥāh;

that neither

[there was] voice

any to answer

any that regarded

and came near

way·yig·gə·šū

וַיִּגְּשׁ֥וּ

And he repaired

[that was] broken down

’ê·lî·yā·hū,

according to the number

כְּמִסְפַּ֖ר

of the tribes

And he build

hā·’ă·ḇā·nîm

as great as would contain

two measures

of offspring

lam·miz·bê·aḥ.

לַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃

way·ya·‘ă·rōḵ

וַֽיַּעֲרֹ֖ךְ

[him] the wood

on the burnt

And he said [it]

וַיִּשְׁנ֔וּ

And they did the third time

וַיְשַׁלֵּֽשׁוּ׃

And it came to pass

of the offering

[evening] of the [evening] sacrifice

ham·min·ḥāh,

that came near

and of Israel

wə·yiś·rā·’êl,

וְיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

let it be known

bə·yiś·rā·’êl

בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

your servant

[ū·ḇə·ḏiḇ·rê·ḵā

[וּבְדִבְרֵיךָ

(ū·ḇiḏ·ḇā·rə·ḵā

(וּבִדְבָרְךָ֣

[that] and I have done

at Your word

had·də·ḇā·rîm

הַדְּבָרִ֖ים

and may know

[are] the LORD

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm;

hă·sib·bō·ṯā

’ă·ḥō·ran·nîṯ.

אֲחֹרַנִּֽית׃

and consumed

the burnt sacrifice

hā·’ă·ḇā·nîm

in the trench

bat·tə·‘ā·lāh

בַּתְּעָלָ֖ה

the people [it]

way·yip·pə·lū

וַֽיִּפְּל֖וּ

and they said

way·yō·mə·rū,

וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ

[is] the God

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm,

[is] the God

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm.

הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃

תִּפְשׂ֣וּ ׀

the prophets

do let escape

And they took

way·yiṯ·pə·śūm;

וַֽיִּתְפְּשׂ֑וּם

and brought them down

way·yō·w·ri·ḏêm

וַיּוֹרִדֵ֤ם

אֵלִיָּ֙הוּ֙

and slew them

way·yiš·ḥā·ṭêm

וַיִּשְׁחָטֵ֖ם

אֵלִיָּ֙הוּ֙

[there is] a sound

of abundance

way·ya·‘ă·leh

and to drink

wə·liš·tō·wṯ;

וְלִשְׁתּ֑וֹת

wə·’ê·lî·yā·hū

וְאֵ֨לִיָּ֜הוּ

and he cast himself down

on the earth

(בִּרְכָּֽיו׃

And he went up

way·yab·bêṭ,

And it came to pass

at the seventh time

baš·šə·ḇi·‘îṯ,

בַּשְּׁבִעִ֔ית

that he said

of like a man

out of the sea

[thy chariot] and get you down

ya·‘a·ṣā·rə·ḵāh

יַעַצָרְכָ֖ה

that the rain

And it came to pass

in the meanwhile

it came to pass in the mean while

that the heaven

wə·haš·šā·ma·yim

וְהַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙

hiṯ·qad·də·rū

הִֽתְקַדְּרוּ֙

and there was

וַיִּרְכַּ֥ב

yiz·rə·‘e·lāh.

יִזְרְעֶֽאלָה׃

And the hand

’ê·lî·yā·hū,

אֵ֣לִיָּ֔הוּ

and he girded up

וַיְשַׁנֵּ֖ס

the entrance

yiz·rə·‘e·lāh.

יִזְרְעֶֽאלָה׃
