and took our journey

הַמִּדְבָּ֙רָה֙

and we compassed

you have compassed

[are] to pass through

of your brothers

the children

hay·yō·šə·ḇîm

הַיֹּשְׁבִ֖ים

and they shall be afraid

וְיִֽירְא֣וּ

wə·niš·mar·tem

וְנִשְׁמַרְתֶּ֖ם

תִּתְגָּר֣וּ

of their land

as a foot width

no not so much as a foot

[for] a possession

I have given

you shall buy

תִּשְׁבְּר֧וּ

from them with money

that you may eat

wa·’ă·ḵal·tem;

וַאֲכַלְתֶּ֑ם

and you shall also

from them with money

that you may drink

ū·šə·ṯî·ṯem.

וּשְׁתִיתֶֽם׃

has blessed you

of your hand

your walking through

הַמִּדְבָּ֥ר

אַרְבָּעִ֣ים

you have lacked

when we passed by

wan·na·‘ă·ḇōr

וַֽנַּעֲבֹ֞ר

our brothers

the children

that dwelled

hay·yō·šə·ḇîm

הַיֹּֽשְׁבִים֙

through the way

of the plain

hā·‘ă·rā·ḇāh,

ū·mê·‘eṣ·yōn

וּמֵעֶצְיֹ֣ן

from Ezion-geber

and we turned

wan·na·‘ă·ḇōr,

וַֽנַּעֲבֹ֔ר

of the wilderness

the Moabites

with them in battle

of their land

[for] a possession

I have given

[for] a possession

therein in times past

as the Anakim

kā·‘ă·nā·qîm.

כָּעֲנָקִֽים׃

were accounted

as the Anakims

kā·‘ă·nā·qîm;

כָּעֲנָקִ֑ים

but the Moabites

wə·ham·mō·’ā·ḇîm,

וְהַמֹּ֣אָבִ֔ים

וּבְשֵׂעִ֞יר

also dwelled

but the children

succeeded them

יִֽירָשׁ֗וּם

when they had destroyed them

way·yaš·mî·ḏūm

וַיַּשְׁמִידוּם֙

from before them

mip·pə·nê·hem,

מִפְּנֵיהֶ֔ם

way·yê·šə·ḇū

וַיֵּשְׁב֖וּ

in their stead

of his possession

yə·ruš·šā·ṯōw,

יְרֻשָּׁת֔וֹ

[said I] and get you over

And we went over

wan·na·‘ă·ḇōr

וַֽנַּעֲבֹ֖ר

And the space

wə·hay·yā·mîm

וְהַיָּמִ֞ים

הָלַ֣כְנוּ ׀

Kadesh-barnea

we came over

the generation

ham·mil·ḥā·māh

הַמִּלְחָמָה֙

ham·ma·ḥă·neh,

הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֔ה

to destroy them

ham·ma·ḥă·neh;

הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֑ה

they were consumed

so it came to pass

So it came to pass when all the men

ham·mil·ḥā·māh

הַמִּלְחָמָ֛ה

are to pass over

וְקָרַבְתָּ֗

the children

of Ammon them

זַמְזֻמִּֽים׃

kā·‘ă·nā·qîm;

כָּעֲנָקִ֑ים

but destroyed

way·yaš·mî·ḏêm

וַיַּשְׁמִידֵ֤ם

the LORD them

mip·pə·nê·hem,

מִפְּנֵיהֶ֔ם

and they succeeded them

way·yî·rā·šum

וַיִּירָשֻׁ֖ם

way·yê·šə·ḇū

וַיֵּשְׁב֥וּ

in their stead

for the sons

that dwelled

hay·yō·šə·ḇîm

הַיֹּשְׁבִ֖ים

he destroyed

from before them

mip·pə·nê·hem,

מִפְּנֵיהֶ֔ם

and they succeeded them

way·yî·rā·šum

וַיִּֽירָשֻׁם֙

way·yê·šə·ḇū

וַיֵּשְׁב֣וּ

And the Avims

wə·hā·‘aw·wîm

וְהָֽעַוִּ֛ים

that dwelled

hay·yō·šə·ḇîm

הַיֹּשְׁבִ֥ים

ba·ḥă·ṣê·rîm

בַּחֲצֵרִ֖ים

the [even] Azzah

כַּפְתֹּרִים֙

that came forth

hay·yō·ṣə·’îm

הַיֹּצְאִ֣ים

from Caphtor

mik·kap̄·tō·wr,

מִכַּפְתּ֔וֹר

destroyed them

הִשְׁמִידֻ֖ם

way·yê·šə·ḇū

וַיֵּשְׁב֥וּ

in their stead

take your journey

and pass over

I have given

into your hand

to possess [it]

with him in battle

will I begin

of you and the fear

wə·yir·’ā·ṯə·ḵā,

וְיִרְאָ֣תְךָ֔

[that are] heaven

haš·šā·mā·yim;

הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם

יִשְׁמְעוּן֙

and shall tremble

and be in anguish

mip·pā·ne·ḵā

מִפָּנֶֽיךָ׃

from the wilderness

מִמִּדְבַּ֣ר

qə·ḏê·mō·wṯ,

through your land

ḇə·’ar·ṣe·ḵā,

along by the highway

to the right hand

nor to the left

וּשְׂמֹֽאול׃

you shall sell

taš·bi·rê·nî

תַּשְׁבִּרֵ֙נִי֙

that I may eat me

wə·’ā·ḵal·tî,

וְאָכַ֔לְתִּי

that I may drink

wə·šā·ṯî·ṯî;

וְשָׁתִ֑יתִי

I will pass through

hay·yō·šə·ḇîm

הַיֹּֽשְׁבִים֙

and the Moabites

wə·ham·mō·w·’ā·ḇîm,

וְהַמּ֣וֹאָבִ֔ים

hay·yō·šə·ḇîm

הַיֹּשְׁבִ֖ים

I shall pass over

hay·yar·dên,

הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן

ha·‘ă·ḇi·rê·nū

הַעֲבִרֵ֖נוּ

and obstinate

to the end that

he might deliver him

into your hand

[appeareth] day

I have begun

ha·ḥil·lō·ṯî

הַֽחִלֹּ֙תִי֙

lə·p̄ā·ne·ḵā,

that you may inherit

Then came out

liq·rā·ṯê·nū

לִקְרָאתֵ֜נוּ

lam·mil·ḥā·māh

לַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה

And delivered

way·yit·tə·nê·hū

וַֽיִּתְּנֵ֛הוּ

lə·p̄ā·nê·nū;

and we struck

and his sons

וַנִּלְכֹּ֤ד

at that time

and utterly destroyed

wan·na·ḥă·rêm

וַֽנַּחֲרֵם֙

and the women

wə·han·nā·šîm

וְהַנָּשִׁ֖ים

and the little ones

wə·haṭ·ṭāp̄;

הִשְׁאַ֖רְנוּ

the livestock

hab·bə·hê·māh

we took for a prey

and the spoil

of the cities

lā·ḵā·ḏə·nū.

mê·‘ă·rō·‘êr

of the river

[from] and [from] the city

[is] by the river

hag·gil·‘āḏ,

do there was

lə·p̄ā·nê·nū.

לְפָנֵֽינוּ׃

qā·rā·ḇə·tā;

of the river

nor to the cities

in the mountains

nor to whatever

’ĕ·lō·hê·nū.

אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃
