הַשִּׁשִּׁ֗ית

in the sixth

בַּשִּׁשִּׁי֙

ba·ḥă·miš·šāh

בַּחֲמִשָּׁ֣ה

[day] of the month

and the elders

yō·wō·šə·ḇîm

that the hand

and Then I beheld

as the appearance

from the appearance

from His loins

and even downward

ū·lə·maṭ·ṭāh

and from his loins

ū·mim·mā·ṯə·nāw

וּמִמָּתְנָ֣יו

and even upward

ū·lə·ma‘·lāh,

וּלְמַ֔עְלָה

as the appearance

of brightness

as the color

ha·ḥaš·ma·lāh.

הַחַשְׁמַֽלָה׃

And he put forth

וַיִּשְׁלַח֙

way·yiq·qā·ḥê·nî

וַיִּקָּחֵ֖נִי

and lifted me up

haš·šā·ma·yim

הַשָּׁמַ֡יִם

to Jerusalem me

yə·rū·šā·lə·māh

יְרוּשָׁלְַ֜מָה

in the visions

bə·mar·’ō·wṯ

בְּמַרְא֣וֹת

of the inner

hap·pə·nî·mîṯ

הַפְּנִימִית֙

hap·pō·w·neh

toward the north

ṣā·p̄ō·w·nāh,

of the image

that provokes to jealousy

ham·maq·neh.

הַמַּקְנֶֽה׃

of Israel [was]

according to the vision

כַּמַּרְאֶ֕ה

in the plain

bab·biq·‘āh.

בַּבִּקְעָֽה׃

toward the north

ṣā·p̄ō·w·nāh;

so I lifted up

toward the north

ṣā·p̄ō·w·nāh,

to the north

miṣ·ṣā·p̄ō·wn

of the altar

ham·miz·bê·aḥ,

הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ

at the entrance

furthermore unto

abominations

tō·w·‘ê·ḇō·wṯ

[even] the great

יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל ׀

that I should go far off

lə·rā·ḥo·qāh

My sanctuary

מִקְדָּשִׁ֔י

you shall see

abominations

tō·w·‘ê·ḇō·wṯ

gə·ḏō·lō·wṯ.

And he brought

of the court

when I looked

when I had dug

the abominations

hat·tō·w·‘ê·ḇō·wṯ

הַתּוֹעֵב֣וֹת

hā·rā·‘ō·wṯ,

so I went in

of creeping things

of the house

וְשִׁבְעִ֣ים

of the ancients

of the house

and Jaazaniah

wə·ya·’ă·zan·yā·hū

וְיַאֲזַנְיָ֨הוּ

in the middle

of them stood

lip̄·nê·hem,

and with every man

with his censer

מִקְטַרְתּ֖וֹ

haq·qə·ṭō·reṯ

have you seen

the ancients

of the house

of his carved

מַשְׂכִּית֑וֹ

has forsaken

also to me Turn

you shall see

abominations

tō·w·‘ê·ḇō·wṯ

Then he brought

toward [was]

haṣ·ṣā·p̄ō·w·nāh;

הַצָּפ֑וֹנָה

yō·šə·ḇō·wṯ,

mə·ḇak·kō·wṯ

hat·tam·mūz.

הַתַּמּֽוּז׃

have you seen

[this] O son

you shall see

abominations

tō·w·‘ê·ḇō·wṯ

And he brought

of the LORD me

into the inner

hap·pə·nî·mîṯ

הַפְּנִימִית֒

of the temple

ham·miz·bê·aḥ,

הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ

twenty [were]

כְּעֶשְׂרִ֥ים

wa·ḥă·miš·šāh

וַחֲמִשָּׁ֖ה

with their backs

’ă·ḥō·rê·hem

אֲחֹ֨רֵיהֶ֜ם

and their faces

ū·p̄ə·nê·hem

toward the east

miš·ta·ḥă·wî·ṯem

מִשְׁתַּחֲוִיתֶ֥ם

toward the east

toward the sun

לַשָּֽׁמֶשׁ׃

Then he said

have you seen

[this] O son

Is it a light thing

for the house

the abominations

hat·tō·w·‘ê·ḇō·wṯ

הַתּוֹעֵב֖וֹת

they have filled

with violence

and have returned

way·yā·šu·ḇū

וַיָּשֻׁ֙בוּ֙

to provoke me to anger

lə·haḵ·‘î·sê·nî,

לְהַכְעִיסֵ֔נִי

haz·zə·mō·w·rāh

הַזְּמוֹרָ֖ה

Therefore will I

will I have pity

and though they cry

ḇə·’ā·zə·nay

do [yet] hear
