כַּשְׂדִּ֑ים

yir·mə·yā·hū

יִרְמְיָ֥הוּ

among the nations

ḇag·gō·w·yim

wə·haš·mî·‘ū

וְהַשְׁמִ֙יעוּ֙

הַשְׁמִ֖יעוּ

tə·ḵa·ḥê·ḏū;

is confounded

are broken in pieces

are confounded her

‘ă·ṣab·be·hā,

are broken in pieces her

gil·lū·le·hā.

גִּלּוּלֶֽיהָ׃

there comes up

out of the north her

miṣ·ṣā·p̄ō·wn,

they shall remove

they shall depart

the children

and the children

they shall go

’ĕ·lō·hê·hem

yə·ḇaq·qê·šū.

יְבַקֵּֽשׁוּ׃

They shall ask

with their faces

[saying] Come

and let us join ourselves

in a perpetual

do [that] be forgotten

ṯiš·šā·ḵê·aḥ.

תִשָּׁכֵֽחַ׃

their shepherds

have caused them to go astray

[on] the mountains

[šō·w·ḇê·ḇîm

(שֹֽׁובְב֑וּם

from mountain

they have gone

they have forgotten

their resting place

that found them

mō·wṣ·’ê·hem

מוֹצְאֵיהֶ֣ם

have devoured

and their adversaries

wə·ṣā·rê·hem

do We offend

they have sinned

against the LORD

the dwelling place

and the hope

of their fathers

’ă·ḇō·w·ṯê·hem

אֲבֽוֹתֵיהֶ֖ם

even the LORD

out of the middle

and out of the land

of the Chaldeans

כַּשְׂדִּ֖ים

as the he goats

kə·‘at·tū·ḏîm

כְּעַתּוּדִ֖ים

and cause to come up

from the land

from the north

and they shall set themselves in array

she shall be taken

their arrows

[shall be] as of a mighty

kə·ḡib·bō·wr

shall return

And shall be

wə·hā·yə·ṯāh

shall be satisfied

יִשְׂבָּ֖עוּ

(תִשְׂמְחוּ֙

(תַֽעַלְז֔וּ

O you destroyers

of my heritage

na·ḥă·lā·ṯî;

are grown fat

(תָפ֙וּשׁוּ֙

as the heifer

[wə·ṯiṣ·hă·lî

[וְתִצְהֲלִי

(wə·ṯiṣ·hă·lū

(וְתִצְהֲל֖וּ

kā·’ăb·bi·rîm.

כָּאֲבִּרִֽים׃

shall be very

you shall be ashamed

she that bore

yō·w·laḏ·tə·ḵem;

יֽוֹלַדְתְּכֶ֑ם

the hindmost

of the nations

[shall be] A wilderness

and a wilderness

wa·‘ă·rā·ḇāh.

of the indignation

do be inhabited

but it shall be

wə·hā·yə·ṯāh

shall be astonished

mak·kō·w·ṯe·hā.

מַכּוֹתֶֽיהָ׃

Put yourselves in array

you that bend

against the LORD

for she has sinned

she has given her

[’aš·wî·yō·ṯe·hā

[אַשְׁוִיֹּתֶיהָ

(’ā·šə·yō·w·ṯe·hā,

(אָשְׁיֹותֶ֔יהָ

are thrown down her

ḥō·w·mō·w·ṯe·hā;

חֽוֹמוֹתֶ֑יהָ

[is] the vengeance

[is] take vengeance

hin·nā·qə·mū

she has done

from Babylon

and him who handles

of the oppressing

hay·yō·w·nāh,

they shall turn

and every one

to his own land

they shall flee

[is] a scattered

[him] have driven away

has devoured

and this him

hā·’a·ḥă·rō·wn

has broken his bones

Nebuchadnezzar

nə·ḇū·ḵaḏ·reṣ·ṣar

נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֖ר

I am going to punish

פָּקַ֖דְתִּי

And I will bring

wə·šō·ḇaḇ·tî

וְשֹׁבַבְתִּ֤י

his dwelling place

and he shall feed

wə·hab·bā·šān;

וְהַבָּשָׁ֑ן

and on mount

wə·hag·gil·‘āḏ

וְהַגִּלְעָ֖ד

shall be satisfied

shall be sought for

the iniquity

wə·’ê·nen·nū,

וְאֵינֶ֔נּוּ

[there shall be] and the sins

ṯim·mā·ṣe·nāh;

תִמָּצֶ֑אינָה

I will pardon them

of Merathaim

mə·rā·ṯa·yim

[even] the inhabitants

and utterly destroy

wə·ha·ḥă·rêm

’a·ḥă·rê·hem

אַֽחֲרֵיהֶם֙

according to all

I have commanded

ṣiw·wî·ṯî·ḵā.

צִוִּיתִֽיךָ׃

[is] in the land

and destruction

way·yiš·šā·ḇêr,

וַיִּשָּׁבֵ֔ר

is the hammer

a desolation

among the nations

bag·gō·w·yim.

בַּגּוֹיִֽם׃

I have laid a snare

יָקֹ֨שְׁתִּי

and you are also

נִלְכַּדְתְּ֙

you are found

נִתְפַּ֔שְׂתְּ

against the LORD

you have striven

הִתְגָּרִֽית׃

’ō·w·ṣā·rōw,

and has brought forth

of his indignation

it is a work

of the Chaldeans

כַּשְׂדִּֽים׃

from the farthest

ma·’ă·ḇu·se·hā,

מַאֲבֻסֶ֔יהָ

cast her up her

wə·ha·ḥă·rî·mū·hā;

וְהַחֲרִימ֑וּהָ

let them go down

to the slaughter

of their visitation

pə·qud·dā·ṯām.

פְּקֻדָּתָֽם׃

of those who flee

ū·p̄ə·lê·ṭîm

from the land

bə·ṣî·yō·wn,

the vengeance

’ĕ·lō·hê·nū,

the vengeance

of his temple

Call together

הַשְׁמִ֣יעוּ

you that bend

thereof escape

according to her work

kə·p̄ā·‘o·lāh,

כְּפָעֳלָ֔הּ

According to all

she has done

she has been proud

the Holy One

יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

her young men

in her streets

bir·ḥō·ḇō·ṯe·hā;

בִּרְחֹבֹתֶ֑יהָ

מִלְחַמְתָּ֥הּ

shall be cut off

ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ;

for your day

[that] I will visit

pə·qaḏ·tî·ḵā.

פְּקַדְתִּֽיךָ׃

And shall stumble

the most proud

and I will kindle

wə·hiṣ·ṣat·tî

וְהִצַּ֤תִּי

to his cities

and it shall devour

wə·’ā·ḵə·lāh

sə·ḇî·ḇō·ṯāw.

סְבִיבֹתָֽיו׃

of hosts [were]

ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ,

The children

and the children

took them captives

held them fast

they refused

to let them go

Their Redeemer

[is] his name

he shall thoroughly

to the end that

he may give rest

and disquiet

וְהִרְגִּ֖יז

to the inhabitants

the Chaldeans

כַּשְׂדִּ֖ים

the inhabitants

ḥă·ḵā·me·hā.

and they shall dote

wə·nō·’ā·lū;

her mighty men

gib·bō·w·re·hā

גִּבּוֹרֶ֖יהָ

and they shall be dismayed

their horses

their chariots

the mixed people

in the middle

and they shall become

her treasures

’ō·wṣ·rō·ṯe·hā

אוֹצְרֹתֶ֖יהָ

and they shall be robbed

ū·ḇuz·zā·zū.

וּבֻזָּֽזוּ׃

and they shall be dried up

wə·yā·ḇê·šū;

[is] it the land

of graven images

[their] on idols

וּבָאֵימִ֖ים

they are mad

yiṯ·hō·lā·lū.

יִתְהֹלָֽלוּ׃

the wild beasts of the wilderness

the wild beasts of the islands

and shall dwell

and the owls

do inhabited

shall it be dwelled in

and to generation

kə·mah·pê·ḵaṯ

כְּמַהְפֵּכַ֨ת

the neighbor

shall any son

from the north

miṣ·ṣā·p̄ō·wn;

a and nation

shall be raised up

from the remote

mî·yar·kə·ṯê-

מִיַּרְכְּתֵי־

of the earth

and the lance

They shall hold [are]

ya·ḥă·zî·qū,

do show mercy

yə·ra·ḥê·mū,

like the sea

they shall ride

[every one] put in array

for the battle

lam·mil·ḥā·māh,

לַמִּלְחָמָ֔ה

and became feeble

and his hands

he·ḥĕ·zî·qaṯ·hū,

הֶחֱזִיקַ֔תְהוּ

as of a women in travail

kay·yō·w·lê·ḏāh.

כַּיּוֹלֵדָֽה׃

he shall come up

from the thicket

mig·gə·’ō·wn

הַיַּרְדֵּן֮

the dwelling place

of the strong

I will make them suddenly

mê·‘ā·le·hā,

[man that] I may appoint

[is] will appoint me the time

yō·w·‘i·ḏen·nî,

יוֹעִדֶ֔נִּי

[is] shepherd

he has taken

that his purposes

ū·maḥ·šə·ḇō·w·ṯāw,

וּמַ֨חְשְׁבוֹתָ֔יו

He has purposed

of the Chaldeans

כַּשְׂדִּ֑ים

shall draw them out

of the flock

[their] he shall make dwelling place

At the shout

of the taking

נִתְפְּשָׂ֣ה

among the nations
