וְשִׁלַּחְתִּ֨י

that shall fan her

wə·zê·rū·hā,

and shall empty

they shall be

בְּסִרְיֹנ֑וֹ

ba·ḥu·re·hā,

בַּ֣חֻרֶ֔יהָ

Thus the slain

of the Chaldeans

כַּשְׂדִּ֑ים

[they that are] and thrust through

ū·mə·ḏuq·qā·rîm

וּמְדֻקָּרִ֖ים

in their streets

bə·ḥū·ṣō·w·ṯe·hā.

בְּחוּצוֹתֶֽיהָ׃

[been] forsaken

mê·’ĕ·lō·hāw,

מֵֽאֱלֹהָ֔יו

ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ;

against the Holy One

miq·qə·ḏō·wōš

יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

from the midst

in her punishment

ba·‘ă·wō·nāh;

בַּעֲוֹנָ֑הּ

[is] the time

to her a recompense

he will render

[hath been] a golden

mə·šak·ke·reṯ

מְשַׁכֶּ֖רֶת

have drunken

yiṯ·hō·lə·lū

יִתְהֹלְל֥וּ

and destroyed

wat·tiš·šā·ḇêr;

וַתִּשָּׁבֵ֑ר

for her pain

lə·maḵ·’ō·w·ḇāh,

לְמַכְאוֹבָ֔הּ

she may be healed

We would have healed

and let us go

to his own country

haš·šā·ma·yim

הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙

For her judgment

מִשְׁפָּטָ֔הּ

and is lifted up

[even] the skies

has brought forth

our righteousness

ṣiḏ·qō·ṯê·nū;

צִדְקֹתֵ֑ינוּ

and let us declare

ū·nə·sap·pə·rāh

וּנְסַפְּרָ֣ה

ḇə·ṣî·yō·wn,

’ĕ·lō·hê·nū.

אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃

haš·šə·lā·ṭîm

הַשְּׁלָטִים֒

has raised up

of the kings

of the Medes

[is] Babylon

mə·zim·mā·ṯōw

lə·haš·ḥî·ṯāh;

לְהַשְׁחִיתָ֑הּ

[is] the vengeance

[is] the vengeance

of his temple

the standard

הַחֲזִ֙יקוּ֙

make the watch

ham·miš·mār,

הַמִּשְׁמָ֔ר

the watchmen

the ambushes

hā·’ō·rə·ḇîm;

הָאֹֽרְבִ֑ים

for the LORD

the inhabitants

[שֹׁכַנְתִּי

O you that dwell

(שֹׁכַנְתְּ֙

in treasures

’ō·w·ṣā·rōṯ;

bə·nap̄·šōw;

בְּנַפְשׁ֑וֹ

[saying] I will fill you

מִלֵּאתִ֤יךְ

as with caterpillars

and they shall lift up

by His power

he has established

by His wisdom

bə·ḥā·ḵə·mā·ṯōw;

בְּחָכְמָת֑וֹ

and by his understanding

ū·ḇiṯ·ḇū·nā·ṯōw

וּבִתְבוּנָת֖וֹ

has stretched out

When he utters

[there is] a multitude

in the heavens

baš·šā·ma·yim,

בַּשָּׁמַ֔יִם

and to ascend

he causes the vapors

from the end

of the earth

for the rain

and brings forth

from His storehouses

mê·’ō·ṣə·rō·ṯāw.

מֵאֹצְרֹתָֽיו׃

of knowledge

is confounded

by his idols

[is] falsehood

his molten image

[there is] breath

[are] vanity

תַּעְתֻּעִ֑ים

of their visitation

pə·qud·dā·ṯām

פְּקֻדָּתָ֖ם

they shall perish

ya·‘ă·qō·wḇ,

[is] the former

of all things

[Israel is] and the staff

of his inheritance

na·ḥă·lā·ṯōw;

[is] his name

[are] my battle ax

for with you will I break in pieces

wə·nip·paṣ·tî

וְנִפַּצְתִּ֤י

and with you will I destroy

wə·hiš·ḥat·tî

וְהִשְׁחַתִּ֥י

mam·lā·ḵō·wṯ.

מַמְלָכֽוֹת׃

And with you will I break in pieces

wə·nip·paṣ·tî

וְנִפַּצְתִּ֣י

and his rider

wə·rō·ḵə·ḇōw;

and with you will I break in pieces

wə·nip·paṣ·tî

וְנִפַּצְתִּ֣י

and his rider

wə·rō·ḵə·ḇōw.

and With you also will I break in pieces

wə·nip·paṣ·tî

וְנִפַּצְתִּ֤י

and with you will I break in pieces

wə·nip·paṣ·tî

וְנִפַּצְתִּ֥י

and with you will I break in pieces

wə·nip·paṣ·tî

וְנִפַּצְתִּ֣י

the young man

and the maid

ū·ḇə·ṯū·lāh.

וּבְתוּלָֽה׃

and I will also break in pieces

wə·nip·paṣ·tî

וְנִפַּצְתִּ֤י

with you the shepherd

and his flock

and with you will I break in pieces

wə·nip·paṣ·tî

וְנִפַּצְתִּ֥י

and his yoke of oxen

and with you will I break in pieces

wə·nip·paṣ·tî

וְנִפַּצְתִּ֣י

ū·sə·ḡā·nîm.

וּסְגָנִֽים׃

And I will render

wə·šil·lam·tî

וְשִׁלַּמְתִּ֨י

the inhabitants

they have done

before your eyes

lə·‘ê·nê·ḵem;

לְעֵֽינֵיכֶ֑ם

O destroying

הַמַּשְׁחִית֙

that destroy

הַמַּשְׁחִ֖ית

and I will stretch out

you and roll you down

wə·ḡil·gal·tî·ḵā

וְגִלְגַּלְתִּ֙יךָ֙

has·sə·lā·‘îm,

הַסְּלָעִ֔ים

and will make

ū·nə·ṯat·tî·ḵā

וּנְתַתִּ֖יךָ

mountain you

for a corner

lə·p̄in·nāh,

for foundations

lə·mō·w·sā·ḏō·wṯ;

לְמֽוֹסָד֑וֹת

you shall be

among the nations

bag·gō·w·yim

the nations her

call together

הַשְׁמִ֧יעוּ

the kingdoms

mam·lə·ḵō·wṯ

and Ashchenaz

wə·’aš·kə·nāz;

וְאַשְׁכְּנָ֑ז

to come up her

cause the horses

caterpillars

as the rough

with the kings

of the Medes

the captains

pa·ḥō·w·ṯe·hā

פַּחוֹתֶ֖יהָ

sə·ḡā·ne·hā;

of their dominion

mem·šal·tōw.

מֶמְשַׁלְתּֽוֹ׃

And shall tremble

וַתִּרְעַ֥שׁ

shall be performed

For the purposes

maḥ·šə·ḇō·wṯ

מַחְשְׁב֣וֹת

to make atonement

a desolation

an inhabitant

have forborne

The mighty men

lə·hil·lā·ḥêm,

they have remained

in the strongholds

bam·mə·ṣā·ḏō·wṯ,

בַּמְּצָד֔וֹת

ḡə·ḇū·rā·ṯām

they have burned her

dwelling places

miš·kə·nō·ṯe·hā

מִשְׁכְּנֹתֶ֖יהָ

are broken her

נִשְׁבְּר֥וּ

ḇə·rî·ḥe·hā.

בְרִיחֶֽיהָ׃

and one messenger

that his city

that the passages

wə·ham·ma‘·bā·rō·wṯ

וְהַמַּעְבָּר֣וֹת

נִתְפָּ֔שׂוּ

hā·’ă·ḡam·mîm

הָאֲגַמִּ֖ים

they have burned

ham·mil·ḥā·māh

הַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה

are frightened

The daughter

[is] like a threshing floor

[it is] time

הִדְרִיכָ֑הּ

and shall come

of her harvest

[’ă·ḵā·lā·nū

has devoured

(’ă·ḵā·la·nî

[hă·mā·mā·nū

he has crushed

(hă·mā·ma·nî,

Nebuchadnezzar

nə·ḇū·ḵaḏ·reṣ·ṣar

נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּר֮

[hiṣ·ṣî·ḡā·nū

[הִצִּיגָנוּ

(hiṣ·ṣî·ḡa·nî

(הִצִּיגַ֙נִי֙

[bə·lā·‘ā·nū

he has swallowed me up

(bə·lā·‘a·nî

(בְּלָעַ֙נִי֙

like a dragon

kat·tan·nîn,

כַּתַּנִּ֔ין

he has filled

with my delicacies

mê·‘ă·ḏā·nāy;

[hĕ·ḏî·ḥā·nū

he has cast me out

(hĕ·ḏî·ḥā·nî.

(הֱדִיחָֽנִי׃

The violence

and done to me and to my flesh

shall the inhabitant

and my blood

the inhabitants

yə·rū·šā·lim.

יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃

I will plead

and take vengeance

wə·niq·qam·tî

וְנִקַּמְתִּ֖י

and I will dry up

wə·ha·ḥă·raḇ·tî

וְהַחֲרַבְתִּי֙

wə·hō·ḇaš·tî

וְהֹבַשְׁתִּ֖י

make her springs

mə·qō·w·rāh.

And shall become

wə·hā·yə·ṯāh

לְגַלִּ֧ים ׀

a dwelling place

an astonishment

and a hissing

an inhabitant

kak·kə·p̄i·rîm

כַּכְּפִרִ֣ים

They shall roar

they shall yell

’ă·rā·yō·wṯ.

In their heat

their feasts

מִשְׁתֵּיהֶ֗ם

and I will make them drunken

wə·hiš·kar·tîm

וְהִשְׁכַּרְתִּים֙

to the end that

they may rejoice

ya·‘ă·lō·zū,

I will bring them down

to the slaughter

liṭ·ḇō·w·aḥ;

עַתּוּדִֽים׃

and surprised

wat·tit·tā·p̄êś

וַתִּתָּפֵ֖שׂ

how is the praise

an astonishment

among the nations

bag·gō·w·yim.

בַּגּוֹיִֽם׃

with its tumultuous

of the waves

she is covered

a desolation

and a wilderness

wa·‘ă·rā·ḇāh;

and I will punish

ū·p̄ā·qaḏ·tî

וּפָקַדְתִּ֨י

and I will bring forth

וְתִֽירְא֔וּ

at the report

baš·šə·mū·‘āh

בַּשְּׁמוּעָ֖ה

that shall be heard

han·niš·ma·‘aṯ

הַנִּשְׁמַ֣עַת

and shall both come

haš·šə·mū·‘āh,

הַשְּׁמוּעָ֗ה

wə·’a·ḥă·rāw

in another year

[shall come] a rumor

haš·šə·mū·‘āh,

הַשְּׁמוּעָ֔ה

and violence

that I will do judgment

ū·p̄ā·qaḏ·tî

וּפָקַדְתִּי֙

the graven images

And her whole

shall be confounded

in her midst

ḇə·ṯō·w·ḵāh.

wə·rin·nə·nū

Then the heaven

and the earth

to her from the north

miṣ·ṣā·p̄ō·wn

the spoilers

haš·šō·wḏ·ḏîm

הַשּׁוֹדְדִ֖ים

[hath caused] the slain

that have escaped

stand not still

ta·‘ă·mō·ḏū;

let Jerusalem

wî·rū·šā·lim

וִירֽוּשָׁלִַ֖ם

to your mind

We are confounded

we have heard

the sanctuaries

מִקְדְּשֵׁ֖י

that I will do judgment

ū·p̄ā·qaḏ·tî

וּפָקַדְתִּ֖י

graven images

pə·sî·le·hā;

פְּסִילֶ֑יהָ

and through all her

should mount up

haš·šā·ma·yim,

הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם

she should fortify

of her strength

shall spoilers

from Babylon

and destruction

from the land

of the Chaldeans

כַּשְׂדִּֽים׃

and destroyed

the voice her

when do roar

of their voice

[even] Babylon

and are taken her

wə·nil·kə·ḏū

וְנִלְכְּדוּ֙

gib·bō·w·re·hā,

גִּבּוֹרֶ֔יהָ

every one of their bows

qaš·šə·ṯō·w·ṯām;

קַשְּׁתוֹתָ֑ם

of recompenses

for the LORD

shall surely

And I will make drunk her

wə·hiš·kar·tî

וְ֠הִשְׁכַּרְתִּי

and her wise

wa·ḥă·ḵā·me·hā

וַחֲכָמֶ֜יהָ

[men] her captains

pa·ḥō·w·ṯe·hā

פַּחוֹתֶ֤יהָ

and her rulers

ū·sə·ḡā·ne·hā

וּסְגָנֶ֙יהָ֙

and her mighty men

wə·ḡib·bō·w·re·hā,

וְגִבּוֹרֶ֔יהָ

and they shall sleep

[is] the LORD

ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ,

hā·rə·ḥā·ḇāh

shall be utterly

tiṯ·‘ar·‘ār,

תִּתְעַרְעָ֔ר

and gates her

ū·šə·‘ā·re·hā

וּשְׁעָרֶ֥יהָ

hag·gə·ḇō·hîm

הַגְּבֹהִ֖ים

shall be burned

and shall labor

and the folk

ū·lə·’um·mîm

וּלְאֻמִּ֥ים

and they shall be weary

wə·yā·‘ê·p̄ū.

yir·mə·yā·hū

יִרְמְיָ֣הוּ

when he went

בְּלֶכְתּ֞וֹ

ṣiḏ·qî·yā·hū

צִדְקִיָּ֤הוּ

hā·rə·ḇi·‘îṯ

of his reign

lə·mā·lə·ḵōw;

[this] And Seraiah

prince [was]

וַיִּכְתֹּ֣ב

yir·mə·yā·hū,

יִרְמְיָ֗הוּ

upon Babylon

[even] words

had·də·ḇā·rîm

הַדְּבָרִ֣ים

that are written

hak·kə·ṯu·ḇîm

הַכְּתֻבִ֖ים

yir·mə·yā·hū

יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ

As soon as you come

and shall see

wə·rā·’î·ṯā,

and shall read

wə·qā·rā·ṯā,

had·də·ḇā·rîm

הַדְּבָרִ֖ים

Then shall you say

wə·’ā·mar·tā,

וְאָמַרְתָּ֗

ham·mā·qō·wm

lə·haḵ·rî·ṯōw,

לְהַכְרִית֔וֹ

lə·mê·’ā·ḏām

that it shall be

when it shall be

you have finished

kə·ḵal·lō·ṯə·ḵā,

כְּכַלֹּ֣תְךָ֔

[that] you shall bind

wə·hiš·laḵ·tōw

וְהִשְׁלַכְתּ֖וֹ

of Euphrates

And you shall say

wə·’ā·mar·tā,

וְאָמַרְתָּ֗

and they shall be weary

wə·yā·‘ê·p̄ū;

yir·mə·yā·hū.

יִרְמְיָֽהוּ׃
