And except the Lord had shortened the days, no flesh would have been saved; but for the elect's sake, whom he chose, he shortened the days.

But take heed: look, I have told you all things beforehand.

But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,

Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall definitely not pass away.

But of that day or that hour knows no one, not even the angels in heaven nor even the Son, but the Father.

But there were some that had indignation among themselves, [saying], To what purpose has this waste of the ointment been made?

But Jesus said, Let her alone; why do you trouble her? she has worked a good work on me.

For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you want you can do them good: but me you do not always have.

For the Son of man goes, even as it is written of him: but woe to that man through whom the Son of man is betrayed! [it would have been] good for that man if he had not been born.

But Peter said to him, Although all shall be offended, yet I will not.

But he spoke exceedingly vehemently, If I must die with you, I will definitely not deny you. And in like manner also they all said.

And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible to you; remove this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what you will.

Watch and pray, that you don't enter into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

But a certain one of those that stood by drew his sword, and smote the slave of the high priest, and struck off his ear.

I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and you didn't take me: but [this is done] that the scriptures might be fulfilled.

but he left the linen cloth, and fled naked.

But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and says to him, Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?

But he denied, saying, I neither know, nor understand what you say: and he went out into the porch; and the rooster crowed.

But he again denied it. And after a little while again those that stood by said to Peter, of a truth you are [one] of them; for you are a Galilean.

But he began to curse, and to swear, I don't know this man of whom you speak.
