Jesus says to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one comes to the Father, but by me.

Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I say to you I don't speak from myself: but the Father abiding in me does his works.

Yet a little while, and the world sees me no more; but you see me: because I live, you shall live also.

He that does not love me does not keep my words: and the word which you hear is not mine, but the Father's who sent me.

But the Comforter, [even] the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.

but that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father commanded me, even so I do. Arise, let us go from here.

No longer do I call you slaves; for the slave doesn't know what his lord does: but I have called you friends; for all things that I heard from my Father, I have made known to you.

You did not choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and [that] your fruit should abide: that whatever you shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

If you were of the world, the world would love its own: but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

But all these things they will do to you for my name's sake, because they don't know him that sent me.

If I had not come and spoken to them, they had not had sin: but now they have no excuse for their sin.

If I had not done among them the works which none other did, they had not had sin: but now they have both seen and hated both me and my Father.

But [this comes to pass], that the word may be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

But these things I have spoken to you, that when their hour has come, you may remember them, how that I told you. And these things I didn't say to you from the beginning, because I was with you.

But now I go to him that sent me; and none of you asks me, Where do you go?

But because I have spoken these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.

Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is expedient for you that I go away; for if I don't go away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.

I have yet many things to say to you, but you can't bear them now.

Nevertheless when he, the Spirit of truth, has come, he shall guide you into all the truth: for he shall not speak from himself; but whatever he shall hear, he shall speak: and he shall declare to you the things that are to come.

Truly, truly, I say to you, that you shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: you shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.
