For my soul is full of troubles, and my life draws near to Sheol.

Do You work wonders for the dead? Do departed spirits rise up to praise You? Selah

But to You, O LORD, I cry for help; in the morning my prayer comes before You.

For I have said, "Loving devotion is built up forever; in the heavens You establish Your faithfulness."

'I will establish your offspring forever and build up your throne for all generations.'" Selah

For who in the skies can compare with the LORD? Who among the heavenly beings is like the LORD?

North and south You created; Tabor and Hermon shout for joy at Your name.

For You are the glory of their strength, and by Your favor our horn is exalted.

I will forever preserve My loving devotion for him, and My covenant with him will stand fast.

Once and for all I have sworn by My holiness-I will not lie to David-

Remember how short is my lifespan. For what futility You have created all men!

For in Your sight a thousand years are but a day that passes, or a watch of the night.

For we are consumed by Your anger and terrified by Your wrath.

For all our days decline in Your fury; we finish our years with a sigh.

The length of our days is seventy years-or eighty if we are strong-yet their pride is but labor and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away.

Satisfy us in the morning with Your loving devotion, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.

Make us glad for as many days as You have afflicted us, for as many years as we have seen evil.

May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish for us the work of our hands-yes, establish the work of our hands!

For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.
