Oh, how abundant is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you and worked for those who take refuge in you, in the sight of the children of mankind!

Blessed be the Lord , for he has wondrously shown his steadfast love to me when I was in a besieged city.

I had said in my alarm, "I am cut off from your sight." But you heard the voice of my pleas for mercy when I cried to you for help.

Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord !

For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.

For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer. Selah

You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with shouts of deliverance. Selah

Be glad in the Lord , and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!

Shout for joy in the Lord , O you righteous! Praise befits the upright.

For the word of the Lord is upright, and all his work is done in faithfulness.

For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.

The war horse is a false hope for salvation, and by its great might it cannot rescue.

Our soul waits for the Lord ; he is our help and our shield.

For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name.

Oh, fear the Lord , you his saints, for those who fear him have no lack!

When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.

Take hold of shield and buckler and rise for my help!

For without cause they hid their net for me; without cause they dug a pit for my life.

All my bones shall say, "O Lord , who is like you, delivering the poor from him who is too strong for him, the poor and needy from him who robs him?"

They repay me evil for good; my soul is bereft.
