So for a second time they summoned the man who had been blind and told him, "Give glory to God! We know that this man is a sinner."Joshua 7:19; 1 Samuel 6:5; John 6:16;">[xr]

At this, they turned on him furiously and said, "You are his disciple, but we are disciples of Moses!

They said to him, "You were born entirely in sins, and you are trying to instruct us?" And they threw him out.John 9:2;">[xr]

When he has driven out all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they recognize his voice.

The thief comes only to steal, slaughter, and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

I have other sheep that do not belong to this fold. I must lead these also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock and one shepherd.Isaiah 56:8; Ezekiel 37:22; Ephesians 2:14; 1 Peter 2:25;">[xr]

When the Jews who had been with her, consoling her in the house, saw Mary get up quickly and go out, they followed her, thinking that she had gone to the tomb to cry there.John 11:19;">[xr]

He said, "Where have you put him?" They said to him, "Lord, come and see."

So they removed the stone. Then Jesus looked upward and said, "Father, I thank you for hearing me.

They kept looking for Jesus and saying to one another as they stood in the temple, "What do you think? Surely he won't come to the festival, will he?"John 11:7;">[xr]

Now the high priests and the Pharisees had given orders that whoever knew where he was should tell them so that they could arrest him.

There they gave a dinner for him. Martha served, and Lazarus was one of those at the table with him.Matthew 26:6; Mark 14:3;">[xr]

So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, shouting,Psalm 118:25-26;">[xr] "Hosanna!Hosanna is Heb. for Please save or Praise">[fn] How blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord,Psalm 118:25-26">[fn] the King of Israel!"

At first his disciples didn't understand these things. However, when Jesus had been glorified, they remembered that these things had been written about him and that peoplethey">[fn] had done these things to him.Luke 18:34; John 7:39; 14:26;">[xr]

So the crowd that had been with him when he called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead continued to testify to what they had seen.to what they had seen">[fn]

They went to Philip (who was from Bethsaida in Galilee) and told him, "Sir, we would like to see Jesus."John 1:44;">[xr]

"He has blinded their eyesIsaiah 6:9-10; Matthew 13:14;">[xr] and hardened their heart, so that they might not perceive with their eyes, and understand with their heart and turn, and I would heal them."Isaiah 6:9-10">[fn]

Unless a person abides in me, he is thrown away like a branch and dries up. People gather such branchesThey gather them">[fn] and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.Matthew 3:10; 7:19;">[xr]
