The Bible Study New Testament
Luke 20

Verses 1-8

Tell us, what right do you have? A man must have authority to do what Jesus did. See notes on Matthew 21:23-27.

Verses 9-19

A man planted a vineyard. See notes on this parable in Matthew 21:33-46. The Jewish leaders rejected every prophet God sent them!

Verses 20-26

Tell us, is it against our Law? For notes on this question about paying taxes, see Matthew 22:15-22.

Verses 27-40

Some Sadducees came to Jesus. For notes on this question about Rising from Death, see Matthew 22:23-33.

Verses 41-44

How can it be said? For notes on this question about the Messiah, see Matthew 22:41-46. The Jews did not expect the Messiah to be divine [God in human form]. But they did expect him to be David's descendant, which he was.

Verses 45-47

Watch out for the teachers of the Law. See notes on Jesus' warning in Matthew 23:5-14.
