(פָּרָה ,parah,' i.e. fruitful, a heifer, Genesis 32:15; Genesis 41:2-27; and so rendered in Numbers 19:2-9; also a young milk-cow, 1 Samuel 6:7-14; "cow," Job 21:10; Isaiah 11:7; a "heifer" just broken to the yoke, Hosea 4:16; put as a symbol of a voluptuous female, Amos 4:1 : sometimes in the Auth. Vers. for אֶלֶ Š,e'leph, usually an ox, as rendered in Psalms 8:8; Proverbs 14:4; Isaiah 30:24; but fem. in Deuteronomy 7:13; Deuteronomy 28:4; Deuteronomy 28:18; Deuteronomy 28:51; also for כָּקָר, bakar', Deuteronomy 32:14; 2 Samuel 17:29; a beeve or one of a herd of cattle, elsewhere without distinction of sex, and rendered " ox," "bullock," " herd," etc.).
