וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ׀

yə·hō·w·nā·ṯān,

either great

וַיִּשָּׁבַ֨ע

I have found

in your sight

bə·‘ê·ne·ḵā,

בְּעֵינֶ֔יךָ

yə·hō·w·nā·ṯān

[there is] but a step

and between me

me and death

yə·hō·w·nā·ṯān

and I will even do

wə·’e·‘ĕ·śeh-

וְאֶֽעֱשֶׂה־

I should not fail

le·’ĕ·ḵō·wl;

but let me go

wə·šil·laḥ·ta·nî

וְשִׁלַּחְתַּ֙נִי֙

that I may hide

wə·nis·tar·tî

וְנִסְתַּרְתִּ֣י

myself in the field

the [day] in the evening

haš·šə·li·šîṯ.

הַשְּׁלִשִֽׁית׃

yip̄·qə·ḏê·nî

יִפְקְדֵ֖נִי

your father me

wə·’ā·mar·tā,

וְאָמַרְתָּ֗

[leave] me that he might run

to Bethlehem

[there is] a yearly

for the whole

ham·miš·pā·ḥāh.

הַמִּשְׁפָּחָֽה׃

[It is] well

shall have peace

your servant

lə·‘aḇ·de·ḵā;

לְעַבְדֶּ֑ךָ

but if he be very

[then] be sure

is determined

Therefore you shall deal

your servant

into a covenant

for you have brought

your servant

to your father

should you bring

ṯə·ḇî·’ê·nî.

תְבִיאֵֽנִי׃

yə·hō·w·nā·ṯān

for if I knew

were determined

then would not

yə·hō·w·nā·ṯān,

יְה֣וֹנָתָ֔ן

[if] your father you

yə·hō·w·nā·ṯān

יְהֽוֹנָתָן֙

and let us go out

into the field

And they went out

way·yê·ṣə·’ū

of them into the field

yə·hō·w·nā·ṯān

I have sounded

about tomorrow

[or] the third

haš·šə·li·šîṯ,

הַשְּׁלִשִׁ֔ית

and to you and make

’ā·zə·ne·ḵā.

lî·hō·w·nā·ṯān

לִֽיהוֹנָתָ֜ן

[to do] you evil

and if I do make

וְגָלִ֙יתִי֙

’ā·zə·ne·ḵā,

that send you away

wə·šil·laḥ·tî·ḵā

וְשִׁלַּחְתִּ֖יךָ

wə·hā·laḵ·tā

וְהָלַכְתָּ֣

lə·šā·lō·wm;

me the covenant loyalty

do [also] cut off

your covenant loyalty

when the LORD

from the face

of the earth

hā·’ă·ḏā·māh.

yə·hō·w·nā·ṯān

[a covenant] the house

and even require

[saying] Let the LORD [it]

Then Jonathan

yə·hō·w·nā·ṯān

מוֹשָׁבֶֽךָ׃

[when] And you have stayed three days

וְשִׁלַּשְׁתָּ֙

נִסְתַּ֥רְתָּ

ham·ma·‘ă·śeh;

הַֽמַּעֲשֶׂ֑ה

וְיָ֣שַׁבְתָּ֔

לְשַֽׁלַּֽח־

לְמַטָּרָֽה׃

If I expressly

הַחִצִּ֣ים ׀

on this side

[there is] peace

[as] the LORD

to the youth

wā·hā·lə·’āh;

you go your way

has sent you away

šil·la·ḥă·ḵā

שִֽׁלַּחֲךָ֖

for the LORD

[as touching] And the matter

wə·had·dā·ḇār,

וְהַ֨דָּבָ֔ר

דִּבַּ֖רְנוּ

and is between

way·yis·sā·ṯêr

וַיִּסָּתֵ֥ר

מִֽמָּחֳרַ֤ת

וַיִּפָּקֵ֖ד

And answered

שַׁלְּחֵ֣נִי

And answered

yə·hō·w·nā·ṯān,

יְה֣וֹנָתָ֔ן

shall he be slain

lə·hak·kō·ṯōw;

whereby Jonathan

yə·hō·w·nā·ṯān,

יְה֣וֹנָתָ֔ן

it was determined

yə·hō·w·nā·ṯān

הַשֻּׁלְחָ֖ן
