הַדָּֽבְרַיָּ֣א

and the captains

ū·p̄a·ḥă·wā·ṯā,

וּפַחֲוָתָ֔א

to establish

lə·qay·yā·māh

and to make a firm

ū·lə·ṯaq·qā·p̄āh

וּלְתַקָּפָ֖ה

he shall be cast

into the den

’ar·yā·wā·ṯā.

אַרְיָוָתָֽא׃

לְהַשְׁנָיָ֛ה

according to the law

of the Medes

and Persians

according to

dā·rə·yā·weš,

דָּֽרְיָ֔וֶשׁ

and the decree

we·’ĕ·sā·rā.

wə·ḏā·nî·yêl

וְ֠דָנִיֵּאל

into his house

and his windows

in his chamber

bə·‘il·lî·ṯêh,

בְּעִלִּיתֵ֔הּ

yə·rū·šə·lem;

יְרוּשְׁלֶ֑ם

bir·ḵō·w·hî,

בִּרְכ֗וֹהִי

and gave thanks

according to

גֻּבְרַיָּ֤א

הַרְגִּ֔שׁוּ

wə·haš·ka·ḥū

וְהַשְׁכַּ֖חוּ

lə·ḏā·nî·yêl;

לְדָנִיֵּ֑אל

and making supplication

ū·miṯ·ḥan·nan

וּמִתְחַנַּ֖ן

they came near

wə·’ā·mə·rîn

have you not

[a petition] of

shall be cast

into the den

’ar·yā·w·ṯā;

according to the law

of the Medes

and Persians

and they and said

wə·’ā·mə·rîn

the children

of the captivity

nor the decree

you have signed

his petition

בָּעוּתֵֽהּ׃

לְשֵׁיזָבוּתֵ֑הּ

the going down

and he labored

מִשְׁתַּדַּ֖ר

lə·haṣ·ṣā·lū·ṯêh.

לְהַצָּלוּתֵֽהּ׃

גֻּבְרַיָּ֣א

הַרְגִּ֖שׁוּ

wə·’ā·mə·rîn

of the Medes

that Persians

do may be changed

lə·haš·nā·yāh.

לְהַשְׁנָיָֽה׃

and they brought

lə·ḏā·nî·yêl,

לְדָ֣נִיֵּ֔אל

[him] into the den

’ar·yā·wā·ṯā;

אַרְיָוָתָ֑א

[Now] The king

lə·ḏā·nî·yêl,

לְדָנִיֵּ֔אל

בִּתְדִירָ֔א

will deliver

yə·šê·zə·ḇin·nāḵ.

יְשֵׁיזְבִנָּֽךְ׃

and was brought

wə·hê·ṯā·yiṯ

וְהֵיתָ֙יִת֙

it with his own signet

bə·‘iz·qə·ṯêh,

בְּעִזְקְתֵ֗הּ

and with the signet

ū·ḇə·‘iz·qāṯ

וּבְעִזְקָת֙

of his lords

raḇ·rə·ḇā·nō·w·hî,

רַבְרְבָנ֔וֹהִי

do be changed

in regard to Daniel

bə·ḏā·nî·yêl.

בְּדָנִיֵּֽאל׃

to his palace

lə·hê·ḵə·lêh

לְהֵֽיכְלֵהּ֙

וְשִׁנְתֵּ֖הּ

and in haste

ū·ḇə·hiṯ·bə·hā·lāh,

וּבְהִ֨תְבְּהָלָ֔ה

’ar·yā·wā·ṯā

אַרְיָוָתָ֖א

when he came

ū·ḵə·miq·rə·ḇêh

וּכְמִקְרְבֵ֣הּ

lə·ḏā·nî·yêl,

לְדָ֣נִיֵּ֔אל

with a lamentable

lə·ḏā·nî·yêl,

לְדָנִיֵּ֗אל

דָּֽנִיֵּאל֙

of the living

בִּתְדִירָ֔א

to deliver you

lə·šê·zā·ḇū·ṯāḵ

לְשֵׁיזָבוּתָ֖ךְ

’ar·yā·wā·ṯā.

אַרְיָוָתָֽא׃

lə·‘ā·lə·mîn

and has shut

’ar·yā·wā·ṯā

אַרְיָוָתָ֖א

that they have not

ḥab·bə·lū·nî;

חַבְּל֑וּנִי

forasmuch as

according to

qā·ḏā·mō·w·hî

קָֽדָמ֙וֹהִי֙

hiš·tə·ḵa·ḥaṯ

הִשְׁתְּכַ֣חַת

[qā·ḏā·ma·yiḵ

do have I done

was the king exceedingly glad

so Daniel him

ū·lə·ḏā·nî·yêl,

וּלְדָ֣נִיֵּ֔אל

and commanded

was taken up

lə·han·sā·qāh

לְהַנְסָקָ֣ה

and was taken up

and no manner

הִשְׁתְּכַ֣ח

בֵּאלָהֵֽהּ׃

And commanded

and they brought

גֻּבְרַיָּ֤א

קַרְצ֙וֹהִי֙

[them] into the den

’ar·yā·wā·ṯā

אַרְיָוָתָא֙

their children

and their wives

ū·nə·šê·hō·wn;

וּנְשֵׁיה֑וֹן

at the bottom

or ever they came

had the mastery

’ar·yā·wā·ṯā,

אַרְיָ֣וָתָ֔א

gar·mê·hō·wn

גַּרְמֵיה֖וֹן

and broke all their bones in pieces

dā·rə·yā·weš

דָּרְיָ֣וֶשׁ

עַֽמְמַיָּ֞א

that languages

wə·liš·šā·nay·yā

וְלִשָּׁנַיָּ֛א

šə·lā·mə·ḵō·wn

שְׁלָמְכ֥וֹן

be multiplied

of my kingdom

wə·ḏā·ḥă·lîn,

וְדָ֣חֲלִ֔ין

and steadfast

lə·‘ā·lə·mîn,

לְעָ֣לְמִ֔ין

and his kingdom

ū·mal·ḵū·ṯêh

וּמַלְכוּתֵהּ֙

[that] shall

be destroyed

ṯiṯ·ḥab·bal,

and his dominion

wə·šā·lə·ṭā·nêh

וְשָׁלְטָנֵ֖הּ

[shall be even] to

and he works

בִּשְׁמַיָּ֖א

and in earth

ū·ḇə·’ar·‘ā;

וּבְאַרְעָ֑א

has delivered

lə·ḏā·nî·yêl,

לְדָֽנִיֵּ֔אל

of the lions

’ar·yā·wā·ṯā.

אַרְיָוָתָֽא׃

wə·ḏā·nî·yêl

וְדָנִיֵּ֣אל

in the reign

בְּמַלְכ֣וּת

dā·rə·yā·weš;

דָּרְיָ֑וֶשׁ

and in the reign

ū·ḇə·mal·ḵūṯ

וּבְמַלְכ֖וּת

[pā·rə·sā·yā

(pā·rə·sā·’āh.
