In P Fay p. 49.9 (B.C. .69–8) it is used in connexion with the right of asylum at a temple at Kasr el Banât for all manner of fugitives—τοὺς κατ [αφ ]εύγοντας καθ᾽ ὁνδηποτοῦν τρόπον : cf. Hebrews 6:16. For a similar use of the subst. see P Tebt I. 43.27 (B.C.118) προήγμεθα τὴν ἐφ᾽ ὑμᾶς καταφ. υ ̣γὴν (l. καταφυγὴν) ποιήσασθαι, ";we have been impelled to take refuge with you"; (Edd.), Preisigke 6.24 (A.D. 216) ἀναγκαίως τὴν ἐπί σε καταφυγὴν ποιοῦμαι.
