that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us:

For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of God Most High, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,

without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God), abides a priest continually.

(for the law made nothing perfect), and a bringing in thereupon of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.

Therefore also he is able to save to the uttermost those that draw near to God through him, seeing he ever lives to make intercession for them.

who serve [that which is] a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, even as Moses is warned [of God] when he is about to make the tabernacle: for, See, he says, that you make all things according to the pattern that was shown to you in the mount.

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel After those days, says the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, And on their heart also I will write them: And I will be to them a God, And they shall be to me a people:

how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse our conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

saying, This is the blood of the covenant which God commanded toward you.

For Christ didn't enter into a holy place made with hands, like in pattern to the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear before the face of God for us:

Then I said, Look, I have come (In the roll of the book it is written of me) To do your will, O God.

but he, when he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God;

and [having] a great priest over the house of God;

of how much sorer punishment, do you think, he shall be judged worthy, who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has done despite to the Spirit of grace?

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

For you have need of patience, that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise.

By faith we understand that the worlds have been framed by the word of God, so that what is seen has not been made out of things which appear.

By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he had witness borne to him that he was righteous, God bearing witness in respect of his gifts: and through it he being dead yet speaks.

By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and he was not found, because God translated him: for he has had witness borne to him that before his translation he had been well-pleasing to God:

And without faith it is impossible to be well-pleasing [to him]; for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of those that seek after him.
