What did you go out to see? A man dressed up in fancy clothes? People who dress like that and live in luxury are found in palaces!

Tell me, what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes indeed, but you saw much more than a prophet.

Then he turned to the woman and said to Simon, "Do you see this woman? I came into your home, and you gave me no water for my feet, but she has washed my feet with her tears and dried them with her hair.

and he answered, "The knowledge of the secrets of the Kingdom of God has been given to you, but to the rest it comes by means of parables, so that they may look but not see, and listen but not understand.

"No one lights a lamp and covers it with a bowl or puts it under a bed. Instead, it is put on the lampstand, so that people will see the light as they come in.

Someone said to Jesus, "Your mother and brothers are standing outside and want to see you."

People went out to see what had happened, and when they came to Jesus, they found the man from whom the demons had gone out sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind; and they were all afraid.

Herod said, "I had John's head cut off; but who is this man I hear these things about?" And he kept trying to see Jesus.

Then Jesus turned to the disciples and said to them privately, "How fortunate you are to see the things you see!

I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see what you see, but they could not, and to hear what you hear, but they did not."

"No one lights a lamp and then hides it or puts it under a bowl; instead, it is put on the lampstand, so that people may see the light as they come in.

Jesus said also to the people, "When you see a cloud coming up in the west, at once you say that it is going to rain—and it does.

How you will cry and gnash your teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets in the Kingdom of God, while you are thrown out!

And so your Temple will be abandoned. I assure you that you will not see me until the time comes when you say, ‘God bless him who comes in the name of the Lord.'"

If one of you is planning to build a tower, you sit down first and figure out what it will cost, to see if you have enough money to finish the job.

If you don't, you will not be able to finish the tower after laying the foundation; and all who see what happened will make fun of you.

Then he said to the disciples, "The time will come when you will wish you could see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it.

yet because of all the trouble this widow is giving me, I will see to it that she gets her rights. If I don't, she will keep on coming and finally wear me out!'"

"What do you want me to do for you?" "Sir," he answered, "I want to see again."

Jesus said to him, "Then see! Your faith has made you well."
