הַבָּ֣תִּ֔ים

בַּלַּ֣יְלָה

and unleavened bread

ū·maṣ·ṣō·wṯ,

bitter [herbs]

they shall eat

yō·ḵə·lu·hū.

יֹאכְלֻֽהוּ׃

that which remains

wə·han·nō·ṯār

you shall burn

תִּשְׂרֹֽפוּ׃

shall you eat

with your loins

mā·ṯə·nê·ḵem

na·‘ă·lê·ḵem

נַֽעֲלֵיכֶם֙

on your feet

bə·raḡ·lê·ḵem,

בְּרַגְלֵיכֶ֔ם

and your staff

ū·maq·qel·ḵem

וּמַקֶּלְכֶ֖ם

in your hand

and you shall eat

wa·’ă·ḵal·tem

וַאֲכַלְתֶּ֤ם

bə·ḥip·pā·zō·wn,

בְּחִפָּז֔וֹן

the passover

For I will pass through

wə·‘ā·ḇar·tî

וְעָבַרְתִּ֣י

on the night

בַּלַּ֣יְלָה

and will strike

wə·hik·kê·ṯî

וְהִכֵּיתִ֤י

the firstborn

and against all

I will execute

And shall be

And when I see

וְרָאִ֙יתִי֙

and I will pass

ū·p̄ā·saḥ·tî

וּפָסַחְתִּ֖י

לְמַשְׁחִ֔ית

when I strike

bə·hak·kō·ṯî

בְּהַכֹּתִ֖י

and shall be

for a memorial

lə·zik·kā·rō·wn,

לְזִכָּר֔וֹן

and you shall keep

wə·ḥag·gō·ṯem

throughout your generations

lə·ḏō·rō·ṯê·ḵem,

לְדֹרֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם

by an ordinance

you shall keep it a feast

tə·ḥāg·gu·hū.

תְּחָגֻּֽהוּ׃

unleavened bread

shall you eat

hā·ri·šō·wn,

you shall put away

תַּשְׁבִּ֥יתוּ

from your houses

mib·bāt·tê·ḵem;

מִבָּתֵּיכֶ֑ם

leavened bread

then shall be cut

wə·niḵ·rə·ṯāh

וְנִכְרְתָ֞ה

mî·yiś·rā·’êl,

מִיִּשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

from the day

haš·šə·ḇi·‘î.

הַשְּׁבִעִֽי׃

and on the day

and on the day

haš·šə·ḇî·‘î,

הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔י

there shall be

וּשְׁמַרְתֶּם֮

לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶ֖ם

by an ordinance

In the first [month]

bə·’ar·bā·‘āh

בְּאַרְבָּעָה֩

of the month

you shall eat

unleavened bread

and twentieth

וְעֶשְׂרִ֛ים

of the month

is to be found

in your houses

bə·ḇāt·tê·ḵem;

בְּבָתֵּיכֶ֑ם

that which is leavened

and shall be cut off

wə·niḵ·rə·ṯāh

וְנִכְרְתָ֞ה

from the congregation

whether he be a stranger

ū·ḇə·’ez·raḥ

וּבְאֶזְרַ֥ח

you shall eat

your dwelling places

mō·wō·šə·ḇō·ṯê·ḵem,

מוֹשְׁבֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם

shall you eat

unleavened bread

according to your families

lə·miš·pə·ḥō·ṯê·ḵem

לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתֵיכֶ֖ם

the passover [lamb]

and you shall take

ū·lə·qaḥ·tem

וּלְקַחְתֶּ֞ם

and dip [it]

ū·ṭə·ḇal·tem

וּטְבַלְתֶּם֮

in the blood

in the basin

wə·hig·ga‘·tem

וְהִגַּעְתֶּ֤ם

ham·maš·qō·wp̄

הַמַּשְׁקוֹף֙

ham·mə·zū·zōṯ,

הַמְּזוּזֹ֔ת

in the basin

shall go out

from the door

of his house

For will pass through

the Egyptians

when he sees

ham·maš·qō·wp̄,

הַמַּשְׁק֔וֹף

ham·mə·zū·zōṯ;

הַמְּזוּזֹ֑ת

and will pass

the destroyer

ham·maš·ḥîṯ,

הַמַּשְׁחִ֔ית

to strike you

and you shall observe

ū·šə·mar·tem

וּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֖ם

for an ordinance

and to your sons

ū·lə·ḇā·ne·ḵā

וּלְבָנֶ֖יךָ

And it shall come to pass

according as

he has promised

that you shall keep

ū·šə·mar·tem

וּשְׁמַרְתֶּ֖ם

hā·‘ă·ḇō·ḏāh

And it shall come to pass

your children

this service

hā·‘ă·ḇō·ḏāh

Then you shall say

wa·’ă·mar·tem

וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֡ם

the sacrifice [is]

the passover

bə·miṣ·ra·yim,

בְּמִצְרַ֔יִם

when he struck

bə·nā·ḡə·pōw

בְּנָגְפּ֥וֹ

the Egyptians

And bowed the head

and worshiped

way·yiš·ta·ḥăw·wū.

וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲוּֽוּ׃

and went away

way·yê·lə·ḵū

way·ya·‘ă·śū

וַיַּֽעֲשׂ֖וּ

the children

had commanded

wə·’a·hă·rōn

And it came to pass

that at mid-

hal·lay·lāh,

his servants

the Egyptians

and there was

bə·miṣ·rā·yim;

בְּמִצְרָ֑יִם

[was] a house

someone dead

And he called

ū·lə·’a·hă·rōn

וּֽלְאַהֲרֹ֜ן

get you forth

the children

as you have said

kə·ḏab·ber·ḵem.

כְּדַבֶּרְכֶֽם׃

you have said

דִּבַּרְתֶּ֖ם

ū·ḇê·raḵ·tem

וּבֵֽרַכְתֶּ֖ם

and were urgent

wat·te·ḥĕ·zaq

the Egyptians

lə·šal·lə·ḥām

לְשַׁלְּחָ֣ם

it was leavened

their kneading troughs

miš·’ă·rō·ṯām

מִשְׁאֲרֹתָ֛ם

being bound up

in their clothes

bə·śim·lō·ṯām

בְּשִׂמְלֹתָ֖ם

their shoulders

and the children

according to the word

and they had requested

way·yiš·’ă·lū

וַֽיִּשְׁאֲלוּ֙

the Egyptians

mim·miṣ·ra·yim,

מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם

and garments

ū·śə·mā·lōṯ.

וּשְׂמָלֹֽת׃

in the sight

of the Egyptians

so that they lent

way·yaš·’i·lūm;

וַיַּשְׁאִל֑וּם

And they plundered

way·naṣ·ṣə·lū

וַֽיְנַצְּל֖וּ

the Egyptians

And journeyed

the children

from Rameses

mê·ra‘·mə·sês

מֵרַעְמְסֵ֖ס

hag·gə·ḇā·rîm

הַגְּבָרִ֖ים

from children

also the flocks

of livestock

And they baked

they brought forth

out of Egypt

mim·miṣ·ra·yim

מִמִּצְרַ֛יִם

of unleavened bread

was it leavened

they were thrust out

mim·miṣ·ra·yim,

מִמִּצְרַ֗יִם

lə·hiṯ·mah·mê·ah,

לְהִתְמַהְמֵ֔הַּ

had they prepared

for themselves

Now the sojourning

of the children

bə·miṣ·rā·yim;

בְּמִצְרָ֑יִם

[was] thirty

And it came to pass

of the thirty

and of the four

then it came to pass

even the same

from the land

to be much observed

for having brought them

lə·hō·w·ṣî·’ām

לְהוֹצִיאָ֖ם

out from the land

is to be observed

the children

in their generations

lə·ḏō·rō·ṯām.

wə·’a·hă·rōn,

the judgment

of the passover

of a foreigner

that is bought

when you have circumcised

shall he eat

and a hired servant

shall it be eaten

shall you break

תִשְׁבְּרוּ־

the congregation

shall sojourn

and will keep

the passover

must be circumcised

let him come near

to celebrate

la·‘ă·śō·ṯōw,

and he shall be

as one that is born in

uncircumcised

to the native

and to the stranger

that sojournes

bə·ṯō·wḵ·ḵem.

בְּתוֹכְכֶֽם׃

and Thus did

way·ya·‘ă·śū

וַיַּֽעֲשׂ֖וּ

the children

And it came to pass

the children

out of the land

their armies
