כְּלוּלֹתָ֑יִךְ

bam·miḏ·bār,

בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר

the firstfruits

of his increase

tə·ḇū·’ā·ṯōh;

תְּבוּאָתֹ֑ה

that devour him

shall offend

the families

miš·pə·ḥō·wṯ

מִשְׁפְּח֖וֹת

of the house

יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

have your fathers

’ă·ḇō·w·ṯê·ḵem

אֲבוֹתֵיכֶ֥ם

they are gone far

and have walked

way·yê·lə·ḵū

וַיֵּֽלְכ֛וּ

and are become vain

way·yeh·bā·lū.

וַיֶּהְבָּֽלוּ׃

הַמּוֹלִ֨יךְ

בַּמִּדְבָּ֗ר

lə·ṯō·w·‘ê·ḇāh.

לְתוֹעֵבָֽה׃

hak·kō·hă·nîm,

הַכֹּהֲנִ֗ים

and they who handle

wə·ṯō·p̄ə·śê

hat·tō·w·rāh

yə·ḏā·‘ū·nî,

and the pastors

wə·hā·rō·‘îm

also transgressed

and the prophets

wə·han·nə·ḇî·’îm

וְהַנְּבִיאִים֙

[things that] profit

of your children

will I plead

and to Kedar

and consider

wə·hiṯ·bō·wn·nū

וְהִֽתְבּוֹנְנ֖וּ

has a nation

[their] gods

But My people

have changed

[that which] profit

Be astonished

O you heavens

and be horribly afraid

have committed

For my people

they have forsaken me

the fountain

for themselves cisterns

נִשְׁבָּרִ֔ים

וַיָּשִׁ֤יתוּ

[וְתַחְפְּנֵס

have you not

in that you have forsaken

’ĕ·lō·ha·yiḵ,

בַּדָּֽרֶךְ׃

have you to do in the way

have you to do in the way

of the river

shall correct

tə·yas·sə·rêḵ

תְּיַסְּרֵ֣ךְ

your own wickedness you

and your backslidings

ū·mə·šu·ḇō·w·ṯa·yiḵ

וּמְשֻֽׁבוֹתַ֙יִךְ֙

shall reprove

tō·w·ḵi·ḥuḵ,

therefore and see

[it is] an evil

[thing] and bitter

that you have forsaken

’ĕ·lō·hā·yiḵ;

ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ.

I have broken

שָׁבַ֣רְתִּי

נִתַּ֙קְתִּי֙

mō·ws·rō·ṯa·yiḵ,

מוֹסְרֹתַ֔יִךְ

and you said

wat·tō·mə·rî

וַתֹּאמְרִ֖י

I will serve

(’e·‘ĕ·ḇō·wr;

playing the harlot

had planted you

נְטַעְתִּ֣יךְ

a noble vine

are you turned

נֶהְפַּ֣כְתְּ

into the degenerate

plant of a strange

nā·ḵə·rî·yāh.

נָכְרִיָּֽה׃

you wash you

tə·ḵab·bə·sî

תְּכַבְּסִי֙

and take you much

[yet] your iniquity

hab·bə·‘ā·lîm

הַבְּעָלִים֙

in the valley

you have done

[you are] a swift

traversing her

mə·śā·re·ḵeṯ

də·rā·ḵe·hā.

דְּרָכֶֽיהָ׃

A wild donkey

to the wilderness

in her passion

at her pleasure

[that] snuffs up

in her occasion

ta·’ă·nā·ṯāh

תַּאֲנָתָ֖הּ

can turn her away

yə·šî·ḇen·nāh;

יְשִׁיבֶ֑נָּה

they who seek

mə·ḇaq·še·hā

מְבַקְשֶׁ֙יהָ֙

In her month

bə·ḥā·ḏə·šāh

בְּחָדְשָׁ֖הּ

they shall find

yim·ṣā·’ū·nə·hā.

יִמְצָאֽוּנְהָ׃

from being unshod

[ū·ḡō·w·rō·nêḵ

[וּגֹורֹנֵךְ

(ū·ḡə·rō·w·nêḵ

(וּגְרֹונֵ֖ךְ

miṣ·ṣim·’āh;

but you said

wat·tō·mə·rî

וַתֹּאמְרִ֣י

There is no hope

I have loved

and after them

wə·’a·ḥă·rê·hem

וְאַחֲרֵיהֶ֥ם

As the thief

is the house

their princes

and their priests

wə·ḵō·hă·nê·hem

וְכֹהֲנֵיהֶ֖ם

and their prophets

ū·nə·ḇî·’ê·hem.

וּנְבִיאֵיהֶֽם׃

to a tree [are]

and to a stone

wə·lā·’e·ḇen

[yə·liḏ·ti·n

[יְלִדְתִּני

have brought me forth

(yə·liḏ·tā·nū,

(יְלִדְתָּ֔נוּ

they have turned

[their] back me

[their] face

but in the time

of their trouble

they will say

wə·hō·wō·šî·‘ê·nū.

וְהוֹשִׁיעֵֽנוּ׃

But where [are]

you have made

thee? let them arise

they can save you

yō·wō·šî·‘ū·ḵā

יוֹשִׁיע֖וּךָ

of your trouble

rā·‘ā·ṯe·ḵā;

[according to] the number

of your cities

will you plead

Me? You have all

have transgressed

פְּשַׁעְתֶּ֥ם

have I struck

your children

do they received

has devoured

your own sword

your prophets

nə·ḇî·’ê·ḵem

נְבִֽיאֵיכֶ֖ם

like a destroying

O generation

a wilderness

lə·yiś·rā·’êl,

לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

ma’·pê·lə·yāh;

מַאְפֵּ֖לְיָ֑ה

We are lords

do we will come

הֲתִשְׁכַּ֤ח

Can a maid her

[or] a bride her

qiš·šu·re·hā;

קִשֻּׁרֶ֑יהָ

and Yet My people

have forgotten me

šə·ḵê·ḥū·nî,

שְׁכֵח֔וּנִי

have you also

the wicked ones

hā·rā·‘ō·wṯ,

[לִמַּדְתִּי

(לִמַּ֖דְתְּ

də·rā·ḵā·yiḵ.

דְּרָכָֽיִךְ׃

on your skirts

biḵ·nā·p̄a·yiḵ

בִּכְנָפַ֙יִךְ֙

of the souls

’eḇ·yō·w·nîm

אֶבְיוֹנִ֖ים

it by secret search

ḇam·maḥ·te·reṯ

בַמַּחְתֶּ֥רֶת

and Yet you say

wat·tō·mə·rî

וַתֹּֽאמְרִי֙

I am innocent

I will plead with

about so much

lə·šan·nō·wṯ

your way you

mim·miṣ·ra·yim

מִמִּצְרַ֙יִם֙

shall be ashamed

tê·ḇō·wō·šî,

מֵאַשּֽׁוּר׃

shall go forth

and your hands

wə·yā·ḏa·yiḵ

has rejected

for the LORD

your confidences

bə·miḇ·ṭa·ḥa·yiḵ,

בְּמִבְטַחַ֔יִךְ
