II Hom. uses only Pass., with intr. aor. 2 ἀντέστην. aor. 1 Pass. ἀντεστάθην Hdt. 5.72: pf. ἀνθέστηκα Romans 9:19; Att. contr. part. ἀνθεστώς Th. 6.70: fut. ἀντιστήσομαι Hdt. 8.75, S. OC 645:
