II. 284.3 (i/B.C.) ἐπικέκριταί μοι μὴ καταβῆναι ἕως τῆς κ ̄ε ̄, ";it has been decided for me (by an oracular response from the god Soknebtunis) that I should not go down till the 25th"; (Edd.). In P Par 42.10 (B.C. 156) the verb is used with reference to the possibility that certain malefactors might escape from the right of asylum in an Egyptian temple—ἐὰν τολμήσωσι καὶ καταβῶσι ἐκτὸς τοῦ ἀσύλου, διασάφησόν μοι. See also P Oxy IX. 1223.33 (late iv/A.D.) of ";depreciated"; coin—ὁ ὁλοκόττινος νῦν μυ (ριάδων) β ̄κ ̄ ἐστίν · κατέβη γάρ, ";the solidus now stands at 2,020 myriads; it has come down"; (Ed.). MGr κατεβαίνω : the aor. may take the augment, ()κατέβηκα.
