And Adonijah feared because of Solomon, and arose and went and took hold of the horns of the altar.

And the LORD shall return his blood upon his own head, because he attacked two men more righteous and better than he and slew them with the sword, my father David not knowing of it; namely, Abner the son of Ner, commander of the army of Israel; and Amasa the son of Jether, commander of the army of Judah.

The people sacrificed only in high places, because there was no house yet built to the name of the LORD, until those days.

And it pleased the LORD because Solomon had asked this thing.

And the LORD said to Solomon, Because you have asked this thing and have not asked for yourself riches, neither have you asked the lives of your enemies nor have you asked for yourself long life, but have asked for yourself wisdom to discern judgment;
