I heard, and my body trembled, My lips quivered at the voice; Rottenness enters into my bones, and I tremble in my place; Because I must wait quietly for the day of trouble, For the coming up of the people that invades us.

And I will bring distress on man, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against Yahweh; and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as dung.

This they shall have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of Yahweh of hosts.

You looked for much, and, look, it came to little; and when you brought it home, I blew on it. Why? says Yahweh of hosts. Because of my house that lies waste, while you run every man to his own house.

For before those days there was no wage for man, nor any wage for beast; neither was there any peace to him that went out or came in, because of the adversary: for I set all of man, every man against his neighbor.

and Hamath, also, which borders thereon; Tyre and Sidon, because they are very wise.

As for you also, because of the blood of your covenant I have set free your prisoners from the pit wherein is no water.

For the talismans have spoken vanity, and the fortune-tellers have seen a lie; and they have told false dreams, they comfort in vain: therefore they go their way like sheep, they are afflicted, because there is no shepherd.

And they shall be as mighty men, treading down [their enemies] in the mire of the streets in the battle; and they shall fight, because Yahweh is with them; and the riders on horses shall be confounded.

Wail, O fir-tree, for the cedar has fallen, because the goodly ones are destroyed: wail, O you oaks of Bashan, for the strong forest has come down.

If you will not hear, and if you will not lay it to heart, to give glory to my name, says Yahweh of hosts, then I will send the curse on you, and I will curse your blessings; yes, I have cursed them already, because you don't lay it to heart.

Yet you say, Why? Because Yahweh has been witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously, though she is your companion, and the wife of your covenant.

But when he was thinking about these things, look, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph, son of David, don't be afraid to take your wife Mary, because what has been born in her is from the Holy Spirit.

and others fell on the rocky places, where they did not have much earth: and right away they sprang up, because they had no deepness of earth:

and when the sun had risen, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.

Therefore I speak to them in parables; because seeing they don't see, and hearing they don't hear, neither do they understand.

yet he does not have root in himself, but endures for awhile; and when tribulation or persecution rises because of the word, right away he stumbles.
