Jesus turned to Peter and said, "Satan, get away from me! You're in my way because you think like everyone else and not like God."

Jesus replied: It is because you don't have enough faith! But I can promise you this. If you had faith no larger than a mustard seed, you could tell this mountain to move from here to there. And it would. Everything would be possible for you.

And when you welcome one of these children because of me, you welcome me.

The world is in for trouble because of the way it causes people to sin. There will always be something to cause people to sin, but anyone who does this will be in for trouble.

Some people are unable to marry because of birth defects or because of what someone has done to their bodies. Others stay single for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Anyone who can accept this teaching should do so."

When the young man heard this, he was sad, because he was very rich.

"Because no one has hired us," they answered. Then he told them to go work in his vineyard.

Finally, the owner sent his own son to the renters, because he thought they would respect him.

So they looked for a way to arrest Jesus. But they were afraid to, because the people thought he was a prophet.

You will be arrested, punished, and even killed. Because of me, you will be hated by people of all nations.

If God doesn't make the time shorter, no one will be left alive. But because of God's chosen ones, he will make the time shorter.

But they said, "We must not do it during Passover, because the people will riot."

A little while later some people standing there walked over to Peter and said, "We know that you are one of them. We can tell it because you talk like someone from Galilee."

Pilate knew that the leaders had brought Jesus to him because they were jealous.

While Pilate was judging the case, his wife sent him a message. It said, "Don't have anything to do with that innocent man. I have had nightmares because of him."

But because of the crowd, they could not get him to Jesus. So they made a hole in the roof above him and let the man down in front of everyone.

Jesus was angry as he looked around at the people. Yet he felt sorry for them because they were so stubborn. Then he told the man, "Stretch out your hand." He did, and his bad hand was healed.

and Jerusalem. People came from Idumea, as well as other places east of the Jordan River. They also came from the region around the cities of Tyre and Sidon. All of these crowds came because they had heard what Jesus was doing.

Jesus said this because the people were saying that he had an evil spirit in him.

Other seeds fell on thin, rocky ground and quickly started growing because the soil wasn't very deep.
