Again, a new commandment I write to you, which thing is true in him and in you; because the darkness is passing away, and the true light already shines.

We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. He that doesn't love abides in death.

Hereby we know love, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.

because if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.

and whatever we ask we receive of him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.

Beloved, don't believe every spirit, but prove the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

You are of God, [my] little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.

hereby we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.

In this love has been made perfect with us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as he is, even so are we in this world.

There is no fear in love: but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment; and he that fears has not been made perfect in love.

We love, because he first loved us.
