of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more;

of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

"A little while, and you will not see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me, because I go to the Father."

Then some of His disciples said among themselves, "What is this that He says to us, "A little while, and you will not see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me'; and, "because I go to the Father'?"

A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world.

for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God.

Indeed the hour is coming, yes, has now come, that you will be scattered, each to his own, and will leave Me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.

I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

The Jews answered him, "We have a law, and according to our [fn] law He ought to die, because He made Himself the Son of God."

Therefore, because it was the Preparation Day, that the bodies should not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

So there they laid Jesus, because of the Jews' Preparation Day, for the tomb was nearby.

Then they said to her, "Woman, why are you weeping?" She said to them, "Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him."

Jesus said to him, "Thomas, [fn] because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

And He said to them, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some." So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish.

He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of Jonah, [fn] do you love Me?" Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, "Do you love Me?" And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You." Jesus said to him, "Feed My sheep.

And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language.

whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.

So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way of punishing them, because of the people, since they all glorified God for what had been done.

Now in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, there arose a complaint against the Hebrews by the Hellenists, [fn] because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution.

And they heeded him because he had astonished them with his sorceries for a long time.
