lam·mil·ḥā·māh

לַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה

to Ramoth-gilead

yə·hō·wō·šā·p̄āṭ

יְהֽוֹשָׁפָט֙

[am] I [am] as you

[are] I as you my people

as your people

ḵə·‘am·me·ḵā

as your horses

kə·sū·se·ḵā.

כְּסוּסֶֽיךָ׃

yə·hō·wō·šā·p̄āṭ

יְהוֹשָׁפָ֖ט

Then together

וַיִּקְבֹּ֨ץ

the prophets

han·nə·ḇî·’îm

הַנְּבִיאִים֮

כְּאַרְבַּ֣ע

Ramoth-gilead

lam·mil·ḥā·māh

לַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה

shall I forbear

And they said

way·yō·mə·rū

וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ

and shall deliver

for the Lord [it]

into the hand

yə·hō·wō·šā·p̄āṭ,

יְה֣וֹשָׁפָ֔ט

[Is there] a prophet

that we might inquire

wə·niḏ·rə·šāh

וְנִדְרְשָׁ֖ה

mê·’ō·w·ṯōw.

יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל ׀

yə·hō·wō·šā·p̄āṭ

יְהוֹשָׁפָ֡ט

[There is] one

by whom we may inquire

yə·hō·wō·šā·p̄āṭ,

יְה֣וֹשָׁפָ֔ט

Let not the king

[hither] Micaiah

and the king

wî·hō·wō·šā·p̄āṭ

וִֽיהוֹשָׁפָ֣ט

having put on

mə·lub·bā·šîm

מְלֻבָּשִׁ֤ים

in [their] robes

at the threshing

in the entrance

šō·mə·rō·wn;

the prophets

han·nə·ḇî·’îm,

הַנְּבִיאִ֔ים

miṯ·nab·bə·’îm

מִֽתְנַבְּאִ֖ים

lip̄·nê·hem.

לִפְנֵיהֶֽם׃

of Chenaanah him

kə·na·‘ă·nāh

shall you push

you have consumed

the prophets

han·nə·ḇi·’îm,

הַנְּבִאִ֔ים

to Ramoth-gilead

and shall deliver

for the LORD

of [it] into the king

and the messenger

wə·ham·mal·’āḵ

וְהַמַּלְאָ֞ךְ

mî·ḵā·yə·hū,

of the prophets

han·nə·ḇî·’îm

הַנְּבִיאִ֛ים

[declare] good

let your word

(ḏə·ḇā·rə·ḵā,

like the word

wə·ḏib·bar·tā

וְדִבַּ֥רְתָּ

[that that is] good

mî·ḵā·yə·hū;

[As] the LORD

that will I speak

מִיכָ֙יְהוּ֙

Ramoth-gilead

lam·mil·ḥā·māh

לַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה

shall we forbear

And he answered

and shall deliver

for the LORD [it]

into the hand

the king him

maš·bi·‘e·ḵā;

מַשְׁבִּעֶ֑ךָ

[that that is] true

let them return

to his house

bə·šā·lō·wm.

בְּשָׁלֽוֹם׃

yə·hō·wō·šā·p̄āṭ;

יְהוֹשָׁפָ֑ט

do you that he would prophesy

And he said you

haš·šā·ma·yim

הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙

by Him on His right

and on his left

ū·miś·śə·mō·lōw.

וּמִשְּׂמֹאלֽוֹ׃

shall persuade

that he may go up

at Ramoth-gilead

on this manner

on that manner

And there came forth

way·ya·‘ă·mōḏ

וַֽיַּעֲמֹד֙

will persuade

’ă·p̄at·ten·nū;

אֲפַתֶּ֑נּוּ

I will go forth

and I will be

וְהָיִ֙יתִי֙

in the mouth

his prophets

you shall persuade

[him] and prevail

in the mouth

your prophets

But went near

ṣiḏ·qî·yā·hū

צִדְקִיָּ֣הוּ

of Chenaanah

kə·na·‘ă·nāh,

from me to speak

mî·ḵā·yə·hū,

you shall go into

lə·hê·ḥā·ḇêh.

mî·ḵā·yə·hū,

and carry him back

wa·hă·šî·ḇê·hū

וַהֲשִׁיבֵ֖הוּ

the governor

wə·’ā·mar·tā,

וְאָמַרְתָּ֗

in the prison

wə·ha·’ă·ḵî·lu·hū

וְהַאֲכִילֻ֨הוּ

of affliction

and with water

of affliction

ḇə·šā·lō·wm.

mî·ḵā·yə·hū,

If you return

bə·šā·lō·wm,

and Jehoshaphat

w·hō·wō·šā·p̄āṭ

וְיהוֹשָׁפָ֥ט

to Ramoth-gilead

yə·hō·wō·šā·p̄āṭ,

יְהוֹשָׁפָ֗ט

I will disguise

הִתְחַפֵּשׂ֙

into the battle

ḇam·mil·ḥā·māh,

בַמִּלְחָמָ֔ה

on your robes

bə·ḡā·ḏe·ḵā;

And disguised

way·yiṯ·ḥap·pêś

וַיִּתְחַפֵּשׂ֙

himself and went

into the battle

bam·mil·ḥā·māh.

בַּמִּלְחָמָֽה׃

But the king

captains that had rule over

וּשְׁנַ֙יִם֙

til·lā·ḥă·mū,

תִּלָּ֣חֲמ֔וּ

And it came to pass

when the captains

of the chariots

yə·hō·wō·šā·p̄āṭ,

יְהוֹשָׁפָ֗ט

[is] the king

[is] And they turned aside

way·yā·su·rū

lə·hil·lā·ḥêm;

and cried out

and Jehoshaphat

yə·hō·wō·šā·p̄āṭ.

יְהוֹשָׁפָֽט׃

And it came to pass

When the captains

of the chariots

וַיָּשׁ֖וּבוּ

from pursuing

mê·’a·ḥă·rāw.

מֵאַחֲרָֽיו׃

בַּקֶּ֙שֶׁת֙

הַדְּבָקִ֖ים

הַשִּׁרְיָ֑ן

וַיִּקְבְּר֥וּ

בְּשֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃

וַיִּשְׁטֹ֨ף

and licked up

way·yā·lōq·qū

וַיָּלֹ֤קּוּ

hak·kə·lā·ḇîm

הַכְּלָבִים֙

and his armor

wə·haz·zō·nō·wṯ

וְהַזֹּנ֖וֹת

אֲחַזְיָ֣הוּ

began to reign

וּבְדֶ֙רֶךְ֙

caused Israel

יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

For he served

way·ya·‘ă·ḇōḏ

וַֽיַּעֲבֹד֙

and worshiped

way·yiš·ta·ḥă·weh

וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲוֶ֖ה

and provoked to anger
