I tell these cowboy stories because they see what I do, but they don't really see anything at all. They're lookin', but they don't see. They hear the stories, but they're not even listening. They understand, but they don't savvy.

This was because many, many moons ago, it was said, "I will speak to you in cowboy stories. I will explain mysteries hidden since the beginnin' of time."

Then those who are pure because of me will shine like the noon-day sun. If you got ears, ya better listen close to this and understand!

And so Jesus didn't do much around there like he did other places because they didn't believe in him.

The King would have killed him right away, but he was afraid there might be an uprising against him because John was a prophet.

Herod told her she could have anything she wanted because she had danced so well.

You want proof of the Boss because you are full of evil. The only sign you'll be given is what happened to old Jonah." Then Jesus rode out of town.

The cowboys talked among themselves and said to each other, "He must be sayin' that because we forgot the biscuits."

Jesus turned on him and said, "Get away from me Devil! You're standin' in the way because you're acting like everyone else and not like the Boss wants you to."

"This whole world is headin' straight for a cliff because of their sins. It's sure enough gonna happen, but I feel sorry for the man who causes one of my little cowboys to sin.

Then you went out and took a man's only horse from him because he owed you a hundred?!'

Jesus told 'em, "He said y'all could divorce because you are a foolish bunch of people, but that's not the way my Dad planned it.

Some men have been made into steers by birth and some by the business end of a pocket knife. Other cowboys have not got hitched because of ridin' for me. If this is the case, then all should accept it."

Jesus shushed his boys and said, "Y'all let these little cowboys and cowgirls come and sit with me. Don't ever keep a kid from me because heaven belongs to folks like these."

"'Because no one gave us a job today,' they answered."He said to them, 'Y'all ride out to the ranch and help them with the brandin'.'

It is my money, isn't it? I can spend my money however I want. Or do I need to ask you how to spend it? Are you bein' jealous just because I am generous?'

Then James and John's momma came up to Jesus and kneeled down before him because she thought this might get her what she was fixin' to ask for.

The next morning as he was ridin' back to Jerusalem, Jesus wanted somethin' to eat because he was hungry.

He saw a fruit tree on the side of the trail and he rode up to it so he could get a piece of fruit, but all he found was leaves. Then he said to the tree, "You look good from a distance, but when I get close to you, I see you don't have any fruit. Because you haven't done what you were made to do, you will never be able to make fruit again!" Just then, the tree withered and died.

If we tell him it came from man, then all these cowboys are going to get mad and throw us out because they think he came on the Boss's word."
