Lord, the Lord Almighty, may those who hope in you not be disgraced because of me; God of Israel, may those who seek you not be put to shame because of me.

Come near and rescue me; deliver me because of my foes.

May those who say to me, "Aha! Aha!" turn back because of their shame.

Have regard for your covenant, because haunts of violence fill the dark places of the land.

When I am in distress, I call to you, because you answer me.

Turn to me and have mercy on me; show your strength in behalf of your servant; save me, because I serve you just as my mother did.

"Because he loves me," says the Lord , "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

Zion hears and rejoices and the villages of Judah are glad because of your judgments, Lord .

because of your great wrath, for you have taken me up and thrown me aside.

Egypt was glad when they left, because dread of Israel had fallen on them.

By the waters of Meribah they angered the Lord , and trouble came to Moses because of them;

because they rebelled against God's commands and despised the plans of the Most High.

Some became fools through their rebellious ways and suffered affliction because of their iniquities.

and fruitful land into a salt waste, because of the wickedness of those who lived there.

Not to us, Lord , not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.

Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.

for I delight in your commands because I love them.

Indignation grips me because of the wicked, who have forsaken your law.

Because I love your commands more than gold, more than pure gold,

and because I consider all your precepts right, I hate every wrong path.
