And on that day you are to explain to your son, 'This is because of what the LORD did for me when I came out of Egypt.'

Moses took the bones of Joseph with him because Joseph had made the sons of Israel swear a solemn oath when he said, "God will surely attend to you, and then you must carry my bones with you from this place."

They said to Moses, "Was it because there are no graves in Egypt that you brought us into the wilderness to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?

And when they came to Marah, they could not drink the water there because it was bitter. (That is why it was named Marah.)

and in the morning you will see the LORD's glory, because He has heard your grumbling against Him. For who are we that you should grumble against us?"

"Eat it today," Moses said, "because today is a Sabbath to the LORD. Today you will not find anything in the field.

He named the place Massah and Meribah because the Israelites quarreled, and because they tested the LORD, saying, "Is the LORD among us or not?"

Then the LORD said to Moses, "Write this on a scroll as a reminder and recite it to Joshua, because I will utterly blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven."

The other son was named Eliezer, because Moses had said, "The God of my father was my helper and delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh."

"Because the people come to me to inquire of God," Moses replied.

Surely you and these people with you will wear yourselves out, because the task is too heavy for you. You cannot handle it alone.

Mount Sinai was completely enveloped in smoke, because the LORD had descended on it in fire. And smoke rose like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked violently.

because his cloak is the only covering he has for his body. What else will he sleep in? And if he cries out to Me, I will hear, for I am compassionate.

You are to observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread as I commanded you: At the appointed time in the month of Abib you are to eat unleavened bread for seven days, because that was the month you came out of Egypt. No one may appear before Me empty-handed.

They must eat those things by which atonement was made for their ordination and consecration. But no outsider may eat them, because these things are sacred.

And if any of the meat of ordination or any bread is left until the morning, burn up the remainder. It must not be eaten, because it is sacred.

And the LORD sent a plague on the people because of what they had done with the calf that Aaron had made.

Go up to a land flowing with milk and honey. But I will not go with you, because you are a stiff-necked people; otherwise, I might destroy you on the way."

Moses was unable to enter the Tent of Meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.

But if he cannot afford two turtledoves or two young pigeons, he may bring a tenth of an ephah of fine flour as an offering for his sin. He must not put olive oil or frankincense on it, because it is a sin offering.
