וְהַמֶּ֤לֶךְ

and they covered him

way·ḵas·su·hū

וַיְכַסֻּ֙הוּ֙

בַּבְּגָדִ֔ים

but he got no heat

way·yō·mə·rū

וַיֹּ֧אמְרוּ

Why his servants

Let there be sought

and let her stand

wə·‘ā·mə·ḏāh

let her cherish him

and let her lie

wə·šā·ḵə·ḇāh

in your bosom

ḇə·ḥê·qe·ḵā,

that may get heat

so they sought

וַיְבַקְשׁוּ֙

throughout all

way·yim·ṣə·’ū,

וַֽיִּמְצְא֗וּ

haš·šū·nam·mîṯ,

הַשּׁ֣וּנַמִּ֔ית

way·yā·ḇi·’ū

And the young woman

wə·han·na·‘ă·rāh

וְהַֽנַּעֲרָ֖ה

and she became

but ministered

wat·tə·šā·rə·ṯê·hū,

וַתְּשָׁ֣רְתֵ֔הוּ

wə·ham·me·leḵ

וְהַמֶּ֖לֶךְ

Then Adonijah

wa·’ă·ḏō·nî·yāh

וַאֲדֹנִיָּ֧ה

מִתְנַשֵּׂ֥א

will be king

and he prepared

and horsemen

ū·p̄ā·rā·šîm,

וּפָ֣רָשִׁ֔ים

wa·ḥă·miš·šîm

וַחֲמִשִּׁ֥ים

do displeased

his father him

have you done

[was a] very

[his mother] and bore him

’aḇ·šā·lō·wm.

אַבְשָׁלֽוֹם׃

he conferred

way·ya‘·zə·rū,

וַֽיַּעְזְר֔וּ

they following

’ă·ḏō·nî·yāh.

אֲדֹנִיָּֽה׃

ū·ḇə·nā·yā·hū

וּבְנָיָ֨הוּ

yə·hō·w·yā·ḏā‘

and the mighty men

wə·hag·gib·bō·w·rîm

וְהַגִּבּוֹרִ֖ים

[belonged] to David

’ă·ḏō·nî·yā·hū.

אֲדֹנִיָּֽהוּ׃

וַיִּזְבַּ֣ח

’ă·ḏō·nî·yā·hū,

אֲדֹנִיָּ֗הוּ

and fat livestock

haz·zō·ḥe·leṯ,

his brothers

ū·ḇə·nā·yā·hū

וּבְנָיָ֜הוּ

the mighty men

hag·gib·bō·w·rîm

הַגִּבּוֹרִ֛ים

do he called

have you not

that Adonijah

’ă·ḏō·nî·yā·hū

אֲדֹנִיָּ֣הוּ

and our lord

wa·’ă·ḏō·nê·nū

וַאֲדֹנֵ֥ינוּ

therefore come

that you may save

your own life

and get you in

וְאָמַ֤רְתְּ

נִשְׁבַּ֤עְתָּ

to your maidservant

la·’ă·mā·ṯə·ḵā

לַאֲמָֽתְךָ֙

then does Adonijah

’ă·ḏō·ni·yā·hū

אֲדֹנִיָֽהוּ׃

while you yet

mə·ḏab·be·reṯ

also will come in

’a·ḥă·ra·yiḵ,

you and confirm

וּמִלֵּאתִ֖י

də·ḇā·rā·yiḵ.

דְּבָרָֽיִךְ׃

into the chamber

and the king

wə·ham·me·leḵ

וְהַמֶּ֖לֶךְ

and the Abishag

wa·’ă·ḇî·šaḡ

וַֽאֲבִישַׁג֙

haš·šū·nam·mîṯ,

הַשּׁ֣וּנַמִּ֔ית

ministered to

and bowed down

wat·tiš·ta·ḥū

וַתִּשְׁתַּ֖חוּ

And she said

נִשְׁבַּ֜עְתָּ

to your maidservant

la·’ă·mā·ṯe·ḵā,

לַֽאֲמָתֶ֔ךָ

[saying] Solomon

’ă·ḏō·nî·yāh

yā·ḏā·‘ə·tā.

And he has slain

וַ֠יִּזְבַּח

and fat livestock

in abundance

and has called

and Abiathar

ū·lə·’eḇ·yā·ṯār

וּלְאֶבְיָתָר֙

wə·liš·lō·mōh

וְלִשְׁלֹמֹ֥ה

your servant

that you should tell

Otherwise it shall come to pass

when my lord

that shall be counted

wə·hā·yî·ṯî,

while she yet

‘ō·w·ḏen·nāh

mə·ḏab·be·reṯ

also came in

And they told

way·yag·gî·ḏū

וַיַּגִּ֤ידוּ

when he was come in

and he bowed himself

way·yiš·ta·ḥū

וַיִּשְׁתַּ֧חוּ

himself before the king

to the ground

’ă·ḏō·nî·yā·hū

אֲדֹנִיָּ֖הוּ

he is gone down

and has slain

וַ֠יִּזְבַּח

and fat livestock

in abundance

and has called

and the captains

and Abiathar

ū·lə·’eḇ·yā·ṯār

וּלְאֶבְיָתָ֣ר

way·yō·mə·rū,

וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ

’ă·ḏō·nî·yā·hū.

אֲדֹנִיָּֽהוּ׃

[even] your servant

wə·liḇ·nā·yā·hū

וְלִבְנָיָ֧הוּ

yə·hō·w·yā·ḏā‘

wə·liš·lō·mōh

וְלִשְׁלֹמֹ֥ה

your servant

do showed to

הוֹדַ֙עְתָּ֙

your servant

Then answered

And she came into

wat·ta·‘ă·mōḏ

וַֽתַּעֲמֹ֖ד

way·yiš·šā·ḇa‘

וַיִּשָּׁבַ֥ע

[As] the LORD

has redeemed

נִשְׁבַּ֨עְתִּי

will I certainly do

Then Bath-sheba

[her] with face

to the earth

and did reverence

wat·tiš·ta·ḥū

וַתִּשְׁתַּ֖חוּ

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ׀

wə·liḇ·nā·yā·hū

וְלִבְנָיָ֖הוּ

yə·hō·w·yā·ḏā‘;

And they came

way·yā·ḇō·’ū

the servants

of your lord

’ă·ḏō·nê·ḵem,

wə·hir·kaḇ·tem

וְהִרְכַּבְתֶּם֙

cause Solomon

הַפִּרְדָּ֖ה

wə·hō·w·raḏ·tem

וְהוֹרַדְתֶּ֥ם

and blow you

ū·ṯə·qa‘·tem

וּתְקַעְתֶּם֙

with the trumpet

baš·šō·w·p̄ār,

בַּשּׁוֹפָ֔ר

wa·’ă·mar·tem

וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֕ם

Then you shall come up

wa·‘ă·lî·ṯem

who he may come

shall be king

I have appointed him

And answered

yə·hō·w·yā·ḏā‘

יְהֽוֹיָדָ֛ע

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ׀

than the throne

than the throne

so went down

ū·ḇə·nā·yā·hū

וּבְנָיָ֣הוּ

yə·hō·w·yā·ḏā‘,

wə·hak·kə·rê·ṯî

וְהַכְּרֵתִי֙

the Pelethites

wə·hap·pə·lê·ṯî,

וְהַפְּלֵתִ֔י

way·yar·ki·ḇū

וַיַּרְכִּ֙בוּ֙

caused Solomon

way·yō·li·ḵū

and anointed

וַיִּמְשַׁ֖ח

And they blew

way·yiṯ·qə·‘ū

וַֽיִּתְקְעוּ֙

baš·šō·w·p̄ār,

בַּשּׁוֹפָ֔ר

way·yō·mə·rū

וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙

way·ya·‘ă·lū

and the people

mə·ḥal·lə·lîm

מְחַלְּלִ֣ים

ba·ḥă·li·lîm,

בַּחֲלִלִ֔ים

וּשְׂמֵחִ֖ים

ḡə·ḏō·w·lāh;

wat·tib·bā·qa‘

וַתִּבָּקַ֥ע

so that the earth

at their noise

bə·qō·w·lām.

[were] and him heard

וַיִּשְׁמַ֣ע

’ă·ḏō·nî·yā·hū,

אֲדֹנִיָּ֗הוּ

haq·qə·ru·’îm

הַקְּרֻאִים֙

and as they [it]

had finished

וַיִּשְׁמַ֤ע

of the trumpet

haš·šō·w·p̄ār,

[is this] noise

being in an uproar

while he yet

’ă·ḏō·nî·yā·hū

אֲדֹנִיָּ֙הוּ֙

תְּבַשֵּֽׂר׃

And answered

yō·w·nā·ṯān,

la·’ă·ḏō·nî·yā·hū;

לַאֲדֹנִיָּ֑הוּ

and has sent

וַיִּשְׁלַ֣ח

the king him

ū·ḇə·nā·yā·hū

וּבְנָיָ֙הוּ֙

yə·hō·w·yā·ḏā‘,

יְה֣וֹיָדָ֔ע

and the Cherethites

wə·hak·kə·rê·ṯî

וְהַכְּרֵתִ֖י

and the Pelethites

wə·hap·pə·lê·ṯî;

וְהַפְּלֵתִ֑י

and they have caused him to ride

way·yar·ki·ḇū

וַיַּרְכִּ֣בוּ

of on the king

and have anointed

way·yim·šə·ḥū

וַיִּמְשְׁח֣וּ

the prophet him

bə·ḡi·ḥō·wn,

and they have come up

way·ya·‘ă·lū

so that the city

haq·qir·yāh;

[is] the noise

you have heard

שְׁמַעְתֶּֽם׃

of the kingdom

ham·mə·lū·ḵāh.

הַמְּלוּכָֽה׃

And moreover

[’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā

make the name

than your name

miš·šə·me·ḵā,

make his throne

than your throne

mik·kis·’e·ḵā;

מִכִּסְאֶ֑ךָ

way·yiš·ta·ḥū

וַיִּשְׁתַּ֥חוּ

ham·miš·kāḇ.

הַמִּשְׁכָּֽב׃

Blessed [are]

[one] to sit

and were afraid

way·ye·ḥer·ḏū

וַיֶּֽחֶרְדוּ֙

way·yā·qu·mū,

haq·qə·ru·’îm,

הַ֨קְּרֻאִ֔ים

la·’ă·ḏō·nî·yā·hū;

לַאֲדֹנִיָּ֑הוּ

way·yê·lə·ḵū

לְדַרְכּֽוֹ׃

And Adonijah

wa·’ă·ḏō·nî·yā·hū,

וַאֲדֹ֣נִיָּ֔הוּ

and caught hold

way·ya·ḥă·zêq

וַֽיַּחֲזֵ֖ק

of the horns

bə·qar·nō·wṯ

בְּקַרְנ֥וֹת

of the altar

ham·miz·bê·aḥ.

הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃

And it was told

’ă·ḏō·nî·yā·hū,

אֲדֹ֣נִיָּ֔הוּ

he has caught hold

of the horns

bə·qar·nō·wṯ

בְּקַרְנ֤וֹת

of the altar

ham·miz·bê·aḥ

הַמִּזְבֵּ֙חַ֙

יִשָּֽׁבַֽע־

that he will

with the sword

he will show

himself a worthy

there shall a hair

miś·śa·‘ă·rā·ṯōw

מִשַּׂעֲרָת֖וֹ

to the earth

shall be found

he shall die

וַיִּשְׁלַ֞ח

and they brought him down

way·yō·ri·ḏu·hū

וַיֹּרִדֻ֙הוּ֙

ham·miz·bê·aḥ,

הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ

and bowed himself

way·yiš·ta·ḥū

וַיִּשְׁתַּ֖חוּ

to your house

lə·ḇê·ṯe·ḵā.
