And there came

way·yā·ḇō·’ū

ham·mal·’ā·ḵîm

הַמַּלְאָכִ֤ים

in the evening

and seeing [them]

to meet them

and he bowed himself

way·yiš·ta·ḥū

וַיִּשְׁתַּ֥חוּ

with his face

toward the ground

of your servant

and stay all night

and you shall rise up early

wə·hiš·kam·tem

וְהִשְׁכַּמְתֶּ֖ם

wa·hă·laḵ·tem

וַהֲלַכְתֶּ֣ם

lə·ḏar·kə·ḵem;

לְדַרְכְּכֶ֑ם

And they said

way·yō·mə·rū

וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ

in the square

we will spend the night

And he pressed

way·yip̄·ṣar-

on them greatly

and they turned aside

way·yā·su·rū

way·yā·ḇō·’ū

and unleavened bread

and they did eat

way·yō·ḵê·lū.

וַיֹּאכֵֽלוּ׃

they lay down

יִשְׁכָּבוּ֒

[even] the men

from every quarter

And they called

way·yiq·rə·’ū

וַיִּקְרְא֤וּ

way·yō·mə·rū

וַיֹּ֣אמְרוּ

hā·’ă·nā·šîm

הָאֲנָשִׁ֛ים

hal·lā·yə·lāh;

bring them out

that we may know

wə·nê·ḏə·‘āh

and went out

hap·peṯ·ḥāh;

and the door

wə·had·de·leṯ

do act so wickedly

let me bring them out

’ō·w·ṣî·’āh-

in your eyes

bə·‘ê·nê·ḵem;

בְּעֵינֵיכֶ֑ם

lā·’ă·nā·šîm

לָֽאֲנָשִׁ֤ים

they have come

under the shelter

And they said

way·yō·mə·rū

וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ ׀

And they said [again]

way·yō·mə·rū

וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙

and he wants to judge

וַיִּשְׁפֹּ֣ט

will we deal worse

And they pressed

way·yip̄·ṣə·rū

וַיִּפְצְר֨וּ

and came near

way·yig·gə·šū

וַֽיִּגְּשׁ֖וּ

But put forth

way·yiš·lə·ḥū

וַיִּשְׁלְח֤וּ

the men [inside]

hā·’ă·nā·šîm

הָֽאֲנָשִׁים֙

way·yā·ḇî·’ū

וַיָּבִ֧יאוּ

hab·bā·yə·ṯāh;

hā·’ă·nā·šîm

הָאֲנָשִׁ֞ים

of the house

with blindness

bas·san·wê·rîm,

בַּסַּנְוֵרִ֔ים

so that they wearied

way·yō·mə·rū

וַיֹּאמְר֨וּ

hā·’ă·nā·šîm

הָאֲנָשִׁ֜ים

have you here

A son-in-law

and your sons

and your daughers

ū·ḇə·nō·ṯe·ḵā,

וּבְנֹתֶ֔יךָ

you have in the city

[them] bring

ham·mā·qō·wm.

are about to destroy

מַשְׁחִתִ֣ים

ham·mā·qō·wm

has become great

ṣa·‘ă·qā·ṯām

and has sent us

way·šal·lə·ḥê·nū

וַיְשַׁלְּחֵ֥נוּ

to destroy it

lə·ša·ḥă·ṯāh.

לְשַׁחֲתָֽהּ׃

And went out

וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר ׀

his sons-in-law

his daughers

ham·mā·qō·wm

will destroy

But he seemed

to be jesting

his sons-in-law

way·yā·’î·ṣū

וַיָּאִ֥יצוּ

ham·mal·’ā·ḵîm

הַמַּלְאָכִ֖ים

who are here

han·nim·ṣā·’ōṯ,

הַנִּמְצָאֹ֔ת

you be consumed

in the punishment

And while he lingered

way·yiṯ·mah·māh

וַֽיִּתְמַהְמָ֓הּ ׀

way·ya·ḥă·zi·qū

וַיַּחֲזִ֨קוּ

hā·’ă·nā·šîm

הָאֲנָשִׁ֜ים

and on the hand

and on the hand

for the compassion

[was] to him

and they brought forth

way·yō·ṣi·’u·hū

וַיֹּצִאֻ֥הוּ

and set him him

way·yan·ni·ḥu·hū

וַיַּנִּחֻ֖הוּ

And it came to pass

When they had brought

ḵə·hō·w·ṣî·’ām

כְהוֹצִיאָ֨ם

that one said

’a·ḥă·re·ḵā,

hak·kik·kār;

to the mountain

tis·sā·p̄eh.

your servant

in your sight

בְּעֵינֶיךָ֒

and you have magnified

וַתַּגְדֵּ֣ל

your goodness

you have shown

lə·ha·ḥă·yō·wṯ

wə·’ā·nō·ḵî,

will be able

lə·him·mā·lêṭ

to the mountain

tiḏ·bā·qa·nî

תִּדְבָּקַ֥נִי

[is] a little one

let me escape

’im·mā·lə·ṭāh

a little one

and shall live

I have accepted

concerning this

you have spoken

דִּבַּֽרְתָּ׃

then when Lot

Then the LORD

haš·šā·mā·yim.

הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃

And he overthrew

way·ya·hă·p̄ōḵ

וַֽיַּהֲפֹךְ֙

hak·kik·kār;

the inhabitants

of the cities

that which grew

on the ground

hā·’ă·ḏā·māh.

mê·’a·ḥă·rāw;

and she became

And got up early

וַיַּשְׁכֵּ֥ם

in the morning

ham·mā·qō·wm,

And he looked

way·yaš·qêp̄,

וַיַּשְׁקֵ֗ף

and Gomorrah

wa·‘ă·mō·rāh,

of the plain

hak·kik·kār;

of the country

as the smoke

of a furnace

hak·kiḇ·šān.

הַכִּבְשָֽׁן׃

And it came to pass

when destroyed

of the plain

hak·kik·kār,

and remembered

וַיִּזְכֹּ֥ר

וַיְשַׁלַּ֤ח

out of the middle

of the disaster

ha·hă·p̄ê·ḵāh,

when he overthrew

in the which

miṣ·ṣō·w·‘ar

in the mountains

bə·ṣō·w·‘ar;

and he dwelled

bam·mə·‘ā·rāh,

בַּמְּעָרָ֔ה

the firstborn

hab·bə·ḵî·rāh

הַבְּכִירָ֛ה

haṣ·ṣə·‘î·rāh

הַצְּעִירָ֖ה

and [there is] a man

after the manner

let us make drink

and we will lie

wə·niš·kə·ḇāh

וְנִשְׁכְּבָ֣ה

that we may preserve

ū·nə·ḥay·yeh

of our father

the offspring

and they made drink

wat·taš·qe·nā

וַתַּשְׁקֶ֧יןָ

their father

בַּלַּ֣יְלָה

the firstborn

hab·bə·ḵî·rāh

הַבְּכִירָה֙

וַתִּשְׁכַּ֣ב

he perceived

when she lay down

בְּשִׁכְבָ֖הּ

nor when she arose

וּבְקוּׅמָֽהּ׃

And it came to pass

On the following day

mim·mā·ḥo·rāṯ,

מִֽמָּחֳרָ֔ת

the firstborn

hab·bə·ḵî·rāh

הַבְּכִירָה֙

haṣ·ṣə·‘î·rāh,

הַצְּעִירָ֔ה

שָׁכַ֥בְתִּי

let us make him drink

נַשְׁקֶ֨נּוּ

hal·lay·lāh,

and go you in

that we may preserve

ū·nə·ḥay·yeh

of our father

the offspring

and they made drink

wat·taš·qe·nā

וַתַּשְׁקֶ֜יןָ

בַּלַּ֧יְלָה

their father

haṣ·ṣə·‘î·rāh

הַצְּעִירָה֙

וַתִּשְׁכַּ֣ב

and he perceived

בְּשִׁכְבָ֖הּ

nor when she arose

ū·ḇə·qu·māh.

וּבְקֻמָֽהּ׃

and with child

wat·ta·hă·re·nā

וַֽתַּהֲרֶ֛יןָ

Thus were both

the daughers

by their father

mê·’ă·ḇî·hen.

מֵאֲבִיהֶֽן׃

the firstborn

hab·bə·ḵî·rāh

הַבְּכִירָה֙

[is] the father

of the Moabites

And the younger

wə·haṣ·ṣə·‘î·rāh

וְהַצְּעִירָ֤ה

[is] the father
