For who is greater, the one who reclines at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines? But I am among you as the One who serves.

"Lord," said Peter, "I am ready to go with You even to prison and to death."

A short time later, someone else saw him and said, "You also are one of them." But Peter said, "Man, I am not."

So they all asked, "Are You then the Son of God?" He replied, "You say that I am."

And behold, I am sending the promise of My Father upon you. But remain in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high."

He did not refuse to confess, but openly declared, "I am not the Christ."

"Then who are you?" they inquired. "Are you Elijah?" He said, "I am not." "Are you the Prophet?" He answered, "No."

John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet: "I am the voice of one calling in the wilderness, 'Make straight the way for the Lord.'"

He is the One who comes after me, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie."

You yourselves can testify that I said, 'I am not the Christ, but am sent ahead of Him.'

Jesus answered, "I who speak to you am He."

"Sir," the invalid replied, "I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am on my way, someone else goes in before me."

But Jesus answered them, "To this very day My Father is at His work, and I too am working."

But I have testimony more substantial than that of John. For the works that the Father has given Me to accomplish-the very works I am doing-testify about Me that the Father has sent Me.

Jesus answered, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me will never hunger, and whoever believes in Me will never thirst.

At this, the Jews began to grumble about Jesus because He had said, "I am the bread that came down from heaven."

I am the bread of life.

I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And this bread, which I will give for the life of the world, is My flesh."

Go up to the feast on your own. I am not going up to this feast, because My time has not yet come."

Then Jesus, still teaching in the temple courts, cried out, "You know Me, and you know where I am from. I have not come on My own accord, but He who sent Me is true. You do not know Him,
