John answered them, "I am baptizing within">[fn] water, but among you stands a man whom you do not know,Malachi 3:1; Matthew 3:11;">[xr]

the one who is coming after me, whose sandal straps I am not worthy to untie."John 1:15,30; Acts 19:4;">[xr]

You yourselves are mymy">[fn] witnesses that I said, 'I am not the Christ,[fn] but I have been sent ahead of him.'Malachi 3:1; Mark 1:2; Luke 1:17; John 1:20,27;">[xr]

Jesus said to her, "I am he, the one who is speaking to you."Matthew 26:63-64; Mark 14:61-62; John 9:37;">[xr]

But Jesushe">[fn] answered them, "My Father has been working until now, and I, too, am working."John 9:4; 14:10;">[xr]

I myself do not accept human testimony, but I am saying these things so that you may be saved.

But I have a greater testimony than John's, for the works that the Father has given me to complete, the very works that I am doing, testify on my behalf that the Father has sent me.John 3:2; 10:25; 15:24; 1 John 5:9;">[xr]

Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. The one who comes to me will never become hungry, and the one who believes in me will never become thirsty.John 4:14; 7:37;">[xr]

Then the Jews[fn] began grumbling about him because he said, "I am the bread that came down from heaven."

Later on Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. The one who follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."John 1:4-5,9; 3:19; 9:5;">[xr]

Jesus answered them, "Even though I am testifying about myself, my testimony is validtrue">[fn] because I know where I have come from and where I am going. But you do not know where I come from or where I am going.John 7:28; 9:29;">[xr]

You are judging by human standards,according to the flesh">[fn] but I am not judging anyone.John 3:17; 7:24; 12:47; 18:36;">[xr]

I am testifying about myself, and the Father who sent me is testifying about me."John 5:37;">[xr]
