When Jesus said, "I am he," they moved back and fell to the ground.

"I told you that I am he," Jesus said. "So if you are looking for me, let the others go."

The girl at the door said to Peter, "Aren't you also one of that man's followers?" Peter answered, "No, I am not!"

As Simon Peter was standing and warming himself, they said to him, "Aren't you one of that man's followers?" Peter said it was not true; he said, "No, I am not."

Pilate answered, "I am not one of you. It was your own people and their leading priests who handed you over to me. What have you done wrong?"

Pilate said, "So you are a king!" Jesus answered, "You are the one saying I am a king. This is why I was born and came into the world: to tell people the truth. And everyone who belongs to the truth listens to me."

Again Pilate came out and said to them, "Look, I am bringing Jesus out to you. I want you to know that I find nothing against him."

The leading priests said to Pilate, "Don't write, ‘The King of the Jews.' But write, ‘This man said, "I am the King of the Jews."'"

After this, Jesus knew that everything had been done. So that the Scripture would come true, he said, "I am thirsty."

Jesus said to her, "Don't hold on to me, because I have not yet gone up to the Father. But go to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am going back to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'"

Simon Peter said, "I am going out to fish." The others said, "We will go with you." So they went out and got into the boat. They fished that night but caught nothing.

So I am glad, and I rejoice. Even my body has hope,

Then anyone who calls on the Lord will be saved.' Joel 2:28–32 "People of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus from Nazareth was a very special man. God clearly showed this to you by the miracles, wonders, and signs he did through Jesus. You all know this, because it happened right here among you. Jesus was given to you, and with the help of those who don't know the law, you put him to death by nailing him to a cross. But this was God's plan which he had made long ago; he knew all this would happen. God raised Jesus from the dead and set him free from the pain of death, because death could not hold him. For David said this about him: ‘I keep the Lord before me always. Because he is close by my side, I will not be hurt. So I am glad, and I rejoice. Even my body has hope, because you will not leave me in the grave. You will not let your Holy One rot. You will teach me how to live a holy life. Being with you will fill me with joy.' Psalm 16:8–11

Saul said, "Who are you, Lord?" The voice answered, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.

There was a follower of Jesus in Damascus named Ananias. The Lord spoke to Ananias in a vision, "Ananias!" Ananias answered, "Here I am, Lord."

So Peter went down to the men and said, "I am the one you are looking for. Why did you come here?"

But Peter helped him up, saying, "Stand up. I too am only a human."
