יִרְמְיָ֙הוּ֙

(בַּשָּׁנָה֙

in the tenth

hā·‘ă·śi·rîṯ,

הָעֲשִׂרִ֔ית

lə·ṣiḏ·qî·yā·hū

לְצִדְקִיָּ֖הוּ

of Nebuchadnezzar

lin·ḇū·ḵaḏ·reṣ·ṣar.

לִנְבֽוּכַדְרֶאצַּֽר׃

yə·rū·šā·lim;

יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם

and Jeremiah

wə·yir·mə·yā·hū

וְיִרְמְיָ֣הוּ

in the court

of the prison

ham·maṭ·ṭā·rāh,

הַמַּטָּרָ֔ה

had shut him up

ṣiḏ·qî·yā·hū

צִדְקִיָּ֥הוּ

into the hand

and he shall take

ū·lə·ḵā·ḏāh.

וּלְכָדָֽהּ׃

And Zedekiah

wə·ṣiḏ·qî·yā·hū

וְצִדְקִיָּ֙הוּ֙

out of the hand

of the Chaldeans

hak·kaś·dîm;

הַכַּשְׂדִּ֑ים

shall surely

be delivered

into the hand

and shall speak him

and his eyes

shall behold

תִּרְאֶֽינָה׃

and to Babylon

he shall lead

ṣiḏ·qî·yā·hū

צִדְקִיָּ֙הוּ֙

ṯil·lā·ḥă·mū

תִֽלָּחֲמ֛וּ

the Chaldeans

הַכַּשְׂדִּ֖ים

תַצְלִֽיחוּ׃

yir·mə·yā·hū;

יִרְמְיָ֑הוּ

[is] in Anathoth

ba·‘ă·nā·ṯō·wṯ,

בַּעֲנָת֔וֹת

for you have the right

of redemption

hag·gə·’ul·lāh

הַגְּאֻלָּ֖ה

according to the word

of the LORD me

of the prison

ham·maṭ·ṭā·rāh

הַמַּטָּרָה֒

[is] in Anathoth

ba·‘ă·nā·ṯō·wṯ

בַּעֲנָת֜וֹת

[is] in the country

בִּנְיָמִ֗ין

for you have the right

of inheritance

הַיְרֻשָּׁ֛ה

and the redemption

hag·gə·’ul·lāh

הַגְּאֻלָּ֖ה

And I bought

ba·‘ă·nā·ṯō·wṯ;

בַּעֲנָת֑וֹת

wā·’eš·qă·lāh-

וָֽאֶשְׁקֲלָה־

hak·ke·sep̄,

wa·‘ă·śā·rāh

hak·kā·sep̄.

And I subscribed

the evidence

and sealed [it]

וָֽאֶחְתֹּ֔ם

[him] the money

on the scales

bə·mō·zə·nā·yim.

בְּמֹאזְנָֽיִם׃

the evidence

of the purchase

ham·miq·nāh;

[both] that which was sealed

[according] to the law

wə·ha·ḥuq·qîm

וְהַחֻקִּ֖ים

which was open

the evidence

of the purchase

ham·miq·nāh,

in the sight

[son] and in the presence

of the witnesses

that subscribed

hak·kō·ṯə·ḇîm

הַכֹּתְבִ֖ים

of the purchase

ham·miq·nāh;

hay·yə·hū·ḏîm,

הַיְּהוּדִ֔ים

hay·yō·šə·ḇîm

הַיֹּשְׁבִ֖ים

in the court

of the prison

ham·maṭ·ṭā·rāh.

הַמַּטָּרָֽה׃

And I charged

wā·’ă·ṣaw·weh

וָֽאֲצַוֶּה֙

in their presence them

lə·‘ê·nê·hem

לְעֵינֵיהֶ֖ם

has·sə·p̄ā·rîm

הַסְּפָרִ֣ים

of the purchase

both that is sealed

that is open

ū·nə·ṯat·tām

in an earthen

to the end that

they may continue

shall be possessed

and vineyards

and I prayed

wā·’eṯ·pal·lêl

וָאֶתְפַּלֵּ֖ל

I had delivered

the evidence

of the purchase

ham·miq·nāh,

haš·šā·ma·yim

הַשָּׁמַ֙יִם֙

by your great

hag·gā·ḏō·wl,

ū·ḇiz·rō·‘ă·ḵā

וּבִֽזְרֹעֲךָ֖

stretched out

han·nə·ṭū·yāh;

הַנְּטוּיָ֑ה

there is nothing

covenant loyalty

to thousands

la·’ă·lā·p̄îm,

לַֽאֲלָפִ֔ים

and recompense

ū·mə·šal·lêm

וּמְשַׁלֵּם֙

the iniquity

of the fathers

of their children

’a·ḥă·rê·hem;

hag·gā·ḏō·wl

hag·gib·bō·wr,

[is] his name

hā·‘ă·lî·lî·yāh;

הָעֲלִֽילִיָּ֑ה

your eyes [are]

p̄ə·qu·ḥō·wṯ,

according to his ways

כִּדְרָכָ֔יו

and according to the fruit

of his deeds

ma·‘ă·lā·lāw.

מַעֲלָלָֽיו׃

ū·mō·p̄ə·ṯîm

and in Israel

ū·ḇə·yiś·rā·’êl

וּבְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

[other] and among men

ū·ḇā·’ā·ḏām;

and have made

wat·ta·‘ă·śeh-

וַתַּעֲשֶׂה־

And have brought forth

out of the land

and with wonders

ū·ḇə·mō·wp̄·ṯîm,

וּבְמוֹפְתִ֗ים

with a strong

ū·ḇə·’ez·rō·w·a‘

וּבְאֶזְר֣וֹעַ

with a stretched out

ū·ḇə·mō·w·rā

And have given

you did swear

נִשְׁבַּ֥עְתָּ

to their forefathers

la·’ă·ḇō·w·ṯām

And they came

way·yā·ḇō·’ū

and possessed

וַיִּֽרְשׁ֣וּ

do they obeyed

ḇə·qō·w·le·ḵā

[ū·ḇə·ṯō·rō·w·ṯe·ḵā

[וּבְתֹרֹותֶךָ

(ū·ḇə·ṯō·w·rā·ṯə·ḵā

(וּבְתֹורָתְךָ֣

you commanded

they have done

nothing them

and to come on

has·sō·lə·lō·wṯ,

הַסֹּלְל֗וֹת

they have come

lə·lā·ḵə·ḏāh

and the city

into the hand

of the Chaldeans

הַכַּשְׂדִּים֙

han·nil·ḥā·mîm

הַנִּלְחָמִ֣ים

of the sword

and of the famine

wə·hā·rā·‘āḇ

and of the pestilence

wə·had·dā·ḇer;

you have spoken

דִּבַּ֛רְתָּ

has come to pass

and behold you

wə·hin·nə·ḵā

for the city

into the hand

of the Chaldeans

hak·kaś·dîm.

הַכַּשְׂדִּֽים׃

yir·mə·yā·hū

יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ

hămim·men·nî,

הֲ‍ֽמִמֶּ֔נִּי

into the hand

of the Chaldeans

hak·kaś·dîm,

הַכַּשְׂדִּ֗ים

and into the hand

of Nebuchadnezzar

nə·ḇū·ḵaḏ·reṣ·ṣar

נְבֽוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֥ר

and he shall take

ū·lə·ḵā·ḏāh.

וּלְכָדָֽהּ׃

and shall come

the Chaldeans

hak·kaś·dîm,

הַכַּשְׂדִּ֗ים

han·nil·ḥā·mîm

הַנִּלְחָמִים֙

wə·hiṣ·ṣî·ṯū

וְהִצִּ֜יתוּ

ū·śə·rā·p̄ū·hā;

וּשְׂרָפ֑וּהָ

it with the houses

they have offered incense

gag·gō·w·ṯê·hem

גַּגּֽוֹתֵיהֶ֜ם

and poured out

wə·his·si·ḵū

drink offerings

to the end that

provoke me to anger

haḵ·‘i·sê·nî.

הַכְעִסֵֽנִי׃

the children

and the children

in My sight me

from their youth

min·nə·‘u·rō·ṯê·hem;

מִנְּעֻרֹֽתֵיהֶ֑ם

have only provoked me to anger

bə·ma·‘ă·śêh

בְּמַעֲשֵׂ֥ה

of their hands

[as] of my anger

[is] and even to

that I should remove

la·hă·sî·rāh

לַהֲסִירָ֖הּ

it from before

and of the children

they have done

lə·haḵ·‘i·sê·nî,

לְהַכְעִסֵ֔נִי

their princes

their priests

kō·hă·nê·hem

כֹּהֲנֵיהֶ֖ם

and their prophets

ū·nə·ḇî·’ê·hem;

וּנְבִֽיאֵיהֶ֑ם

and the inhabitants

of Jerusalem

yə·rū·šā·lim.

יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃

And they have turned

and though I taught

swelling up early

and teaching

and yet they have not

do [them] listened

But they set

way·yā·śî·mū

וַיָּשִׂ֣ימוּ

their abominations

šiq·qū·ṣê·hem,

שִׁקּֽוּצֵיהֶ֗ם

in the house

lə·ṭam·mə·’ōw.

לְטַמְּאֽוֹ׃

And they build

the high places

in the valley

of Ben-hinnom

lə·ha·‘ă·ḇîr

to cause their sons

their daughers

bə·nō·w·ṯê·hem

בְּנוֹתֵיהֶם֮

[the fire] to Molech

do I commanded

that they should do

hat·tō·w·‘ê·ḇāh

הַתּוֹעֵבָ֣ה

to the end that

to cause Judah

It shall be delivered

into the hand

and by the famine

and by the pestilence

ū·ḇad·dā·ḇer.

וּבַדָּֽבֶר׃

I will gather them

mə·qab·bə·ṣām

hā·’ă·rā·ṣō·wṯ,

הָ֣אֲרָצ֔וֹת

I have driven

הִדַּחְתִּ֥ים

and in my fury

ū·ḇa·ḥă·mā·ṯî

וּבַחֲמָתִ֖י

ū·ḇə·qe·ṣep̄

and I will bring them again

wa·hă·ši·ḇō·ṯîm

וַהֲשִֽׁבֹתִים֙

ham·mā·qō·wm

and I will cause them to dwell

wə·hō·šaḇ·tîm

וְהֹשַׁבְתִּ֖ים

And they shall be

And I will give

wə·nā·ṯat·tî

who they may fear

for their own good

and of their children

wə·liḇ·nê·hem

וְלִבְנֵיהֶ֖ם

’a·ḥă·rê·hem.

אַחֲרֵיהֶֽם׃

And I will make

wə·ḵā·rat·tî

an everlasting

do turn away

mê·’a·ḥă·rê·hem,

מֵאַ֣חֲרֵיהֶ֔ם

לְהֵיטִיבִ֖י

but I will put

of Me in their hearts

that they shall

I will rejoice

וְשַׂשְׂתִּ֥י

over them to do them good

and I will plant

ū·nə·ṭa‘·tîm

וּנְטַעְתִּ֞ים

and with my whole

I have brought

hag·gə·ḏō·w·lāh

הַגְּדוֹלָ֖ה

haṭ·ṭō·w·ḇāh,

have promised

And shall be bought

[It is] desolate

[is] outside

ū·ḇə·hê·māh,

into the hand

of the Chaldeans

hak·kaś·dîm.

הַכַּשְׂדִּֽים׃

Men shall buy

and subscribe

בַּסֵּ֥פֶר ׀

[them] and take

and in the places about

וּבִסְבִיבֵ֣י

yə·rū·šā·lim,

יְרוּשָׁלִַ֗ם

and in the cities

and in the cities

of the mountains

and in the cities

of the valley

haš·šə·p̄ê·lāh

הַשְּׁפֵלָ֖ה

and in the cities

of the south

I will cause their captivity
