ἐπιτίθημι is construed with the acc. and dat., as in Acts 28:10, in BGU IV. 1208i. 4 (B.C. 27) ὃ ἐπιτέθ [εισα ]ι ̣ τοῖς παῤ αὐτοῦ [πιττάκ ]ιον, ib. 1139.7 (B.C. 5) Π ̣α ̣ρ ̣θ ̣ο ̣ς. . . α ̣ὐ ̣τ ̣η ̣̑ ἐπέθηκεν Π ̣ρ ̣ι ̣μ ̣α (cf. P Tebt I. 15.11 (B.C. 114) καὶ τὸν τούτου υἱὸν Μάρωνα ἐπιτεθεῖσθαι τῶι Πολέμωνι, ib. 53.10 (B.C. 110) ἐπιθέμενοι λῃστικῶι τρόπωι, and so BGU IV. 1061.14 (B.C. 14) : cf. With the use of the verb = ";add to"; in Revelation 22:18 as opposed to ἀφαιρέω, cf. προστίθημι in Cagnat IV. 1028b.20 ἐὰν δέ τις ] πρὸς ταύτας τὰς συνθήκας κοινῆ (ι) βουλῆ (ι) προσθεῖναι ἢ ἀφελεῖν βούλ [ω ]νται ὁ δῆμος καὶ ἡ βουλὴ κτλ.
