Then the Lord said to Cain, "Where is your brother Abel?" "I don't know," he replied. "Am I my brother's guardian?"

Then God said to Noah, "I have decided to put an end to every creature, for the earth is filled with wickedness because of them; therefore I am going to destroy them along with the earth.

"Understand that I am bringing a flood—floodwaters on the earth to destroy every creature under heaven with the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will die.

"Understand that I am confirming My covenant with you and your descendants after you,

And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between Me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all future generations:

After these events, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield; your reward will be very great.

But Abram said, "Lord God , what can You give me, since I am childless and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?"

He also said to him, "I am Yahweh who brought you from Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to possess."

When Abram was 99 years old, the Lord appeared to him, saying, "I am God Almighty. Live in My presence and be blameless.

Then the Lord said, "Should I hide what I am about to do from Abraham?

Then Abraham answered, "Since I have ventured to speak to the Lord—even though I am dust and ashes—

And he said to Sarah, "Look, I am giving your brother 1,000 pieces of silver. It is a verification of your honor to all who are with you. You are fully vindicated."

After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" "Here I am," he answered.

Then Isaac spoke to his father Abraham and said, "My father." And he replied, "Here I am, my son." Isaac said, "The fire and the wood are here, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?"

But the Angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, "Abraham, Abraham!" He replied, "Here I am."

"I am a foreign resident among you. Give me a burial site among you so that I can bury my dead."

I am standing here at the spring where the daughters of the men of the town are coming out to draw water.

She answered him, "I am the daughter of Bethuel son of Milcah, whom she bore to Nahor."

"I am Abraham's servant," he said.

I am standing here at a spring. Let the virgin who comes out to draw water, and I say to her: Please let me drink a little water from your jug,
