And Yahweh said to Cain, Where is Abel your brother? And he said, I don't know: am I my brother's keeper?

After these things the word of Yahweh came to Abram in a vision, saying, Don't be afraid, Abram: I am your shield, [and] your exceeding great reward.

And he said to him, I am Yahweh that brought you out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give you this land to inherit it.

And he said, Hagar, Sarai's slave, where did you come from? and where are you going? And she said, I am fleeing from the face of my mistress Sarai.

And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, Yahweh appeared to Abram, and said to him, I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be perfect.

And Sarah laughed inside herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?

And Yahweh said to Abraham, Why did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I certainly bear a child, who am old?

And Abraham answered and said, Seeing now that I have taken on myself to speak to the Lord, who am but dust and ashes:

And it came to pass after these things, that God did prove Abraham, and said to him, Abraham. And he said, Here I am.

And Isaac spoke to Abraham his father, and said, My father. And he said, Here I am, my son. And he said, Look, the fire and the wood. But where is the lamb for a burnt-offering?

And the angel of Yahweh called to him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham. And he said, Here I am.

I am a stranger and a sojourner with you. Give me a possession of a burying-place with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.

Look, I am standing by the fountain of water. And the daughters of the men of the city are coming out to draw water.

And she said to him, I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, whom she bore to Nahor.

And he said, I am Abraham's slave.

Look, I am standing by the fountain of water. And let it come to pass, that the maiden that comes forth to draw, to whom I shall say, Give me, I pray you, a little water from your pitcher to drink.

And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray you, with that same red [pottage]. For I am faint. Therefore his name was called Edom.

And Esau said, Look, I am about to die. And what profit shall the birthright be to me?

And Yahweh appeared to him the same night, and said, I am the God of Abraham your father. Don't be afraid, for I am with you, and will bless you, and multiply your seed for my slave Abraham's sake.

And it came to pass, that when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his elder son, and said to him, My son. And he said to him, Here I am.
