וַיִּשְׁלַ֧ח

and the other

[man] exceedingly

But the poor

and nourished up

way·ḥay·ye·hā

וַיְחַיֶּ֕הָ

and it grew up

וַתִּגְדַּ֥ל

with him and his children

of his bread

and of his own cup

ū·mik·kō·sōw

and in his bosom

as a daughter

And there came

and he spared

way·yaḥ·mōl,

from his own flock

and of his own herd

ū·mib·bə·qā·rōw,

וּמִבְּקָר֔וֹ

for the wayfarer

that was come

way·yiq·qaḥ,

way·ya·‘ă·śe·hā,

וַֽיַּעֲשֶׂ֔הָ

it for the man

that was come

against the man

[As] the LORD

[thing] this [thing] shall surely

that has done

הַכִּבְשָׂ֖ה

he shall restore

’ar·ba‘·tā·yim;

אַרְבַּעְתָּ֑יִם

[are] the man

anointed you

mə·šaḥ·tî·ḵā

מְשַׁחְתִּ֤יךָֽ

delivered you

hiṣ·ṣal·tî·ḵā

הִצַּלְתִּ֖יךָ

out of the hand

wā·’et·tə·nāh

of your master

’ă·ḏō·ne·ḵā,

of your master

into your care

bə·ḥê·qe·ḵā,

wā·’et·tə·nāh

[that had been] too little

and I would moreover have given

wə·’ō·si·p̄āh

many more things like these

wə·ḵā·hên·nāh.

וְכָהֵֽנָּה׃

have you despised

in his sight

you have killed

with the sword

be your wife

have slain him

with the sword

therefore the sword

from your house

mib·bê·ṯə·ḵā

have despised me

ḇə·zi·ṯā·nî,

and have taken

wat·tiq·qaḥ,

be your wife

I will raise up

out of your own house

mib·bê·ṯe·ḵā,

and I will take

wə·lā·qaḥ·tî

וְלָקַחְתִּ֤י

before your eyes

lə·‘ê·ne·ḵā,

wə·nā·ṯat·tî

[them] to your neighbor

lə·rê·‘e·ḵā;

and he shall lie

הַשָּֽׁמֶשׁ׃

I have sinned

against the LORD

has put away

ḥaṭ·ṭā·ṯə·ḵā

you have given great occasion

to blaspheme

to the enemies

[that is] born

hay·yil·lō·wḏ

you shall surely

And departed

way·yig·gōp̄

of that Uriah

and it was very sick

way·yê·’ā·naš.

וַיֵּאָנַֽשׁ׃

therefore sought

וַיְבַקֵּ֥שׁ

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm

and all night

on the earth

way·yā·qu·mū

of his household

to raise him up

la·hă·qî·mōw

And it came to pass

haš·šə·ḇî·‘î

הַשְּׁבִיעִ֖י

וַיִּֽרְאוּ֩

the servants

was dead him

דִּבַּ֤רְנוּ

to our voice

bə·qō·w·lê·nū,

בְּקוֹלֵ֔נוּ

then worshiped

וַיָּשִׂ֥ימוּ

and he did eat

way·yō·mə·rū

וַיֹּאמְר֤וּ

his servants

wə·ḵa·’ă·šer

וְכַֽאֲשֶׁר֙

you did rise

While the child

וָֽאֶבְכֶּ֑ה

אָמַ֙רְתִּי֙

(wə·ḥan·na·nî

(וְחַנַּ֥נִי

[whether] GOD

that may live

I bring him back

la·hă·šî·ḇōw

לַהֲשִׁיב֖וֹ

And comforted

וַיִּשְׁכַּ֣ב

and she bore

(וַתִּקְרָ֤א

way·yiš·laḥ,

וַיִּשְׁלַ֗ח

and he called

yə·ḏî·ḏə·yāh;

יְדִ֣ידְיָ֑הּ

way·yil·lā·ḥem

וַיִּלָּ֣חֶם

against Rabbah

וַיִּלְכֹּ֖ד

ham·mə·lū·ḵāh.

הַמְּלוּכָֽה׃

וַיִּשְׁלַ֥ח

I have fought

נִלְחַ֣מְתִּי

against Rabbah

therefore gather

of the people

wə·lā·ḵə·ḏāh;

and it be called

And gathered

way·ye·’ĕ·sōp̄

way·yil·lā·ḥem

וַיִּלָּ֥חֶם

way·yil·kə·ḏāh.

וַֽיִּלְכְּדָֽהּ׃

of their king

and the weight [was]

ū·miš·qā·lāh

וּמִשְׁקָלָ֨הּ

whereof a talent

with the precious

of [set] David

and the spoil

he brought forth

he brought forth

[them] under saws

bam·mə·ḡê·rāh

בַּ֠מְּגֵרָה

and under harrows

ū·ḇa·ḥă·ri·ṣê

וּבַחֲרִצֵ֨י

and under axes

and made them pass

the brick kiln

(bam·mal·bên,

(בַּמַּלְבֵּ֔ן

and returned

to Jerusalem
