So when he came, he went right up to Him and said, "Rabbi!"—and kissed Him.

So Pilate asked Him, "Are You the King of the Jews?" He answered him, "You have said it."

But Jesus still did not answer anything, so Pilate was amazed.

So Pilate answered them, "Do you want me to release the King of the Jews for you?"

But the chief priests stirred up the crowd so that he would release Barabbas to them instead.

[So the Scripture was fulfilled that says: And He was counted among outlaws. ]

Let the Messiah, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross, so that we may see and believe." Even those who were crucified with Him were taunting Him.

When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so they could go and anoint Him.

So they went out and started running from the tomb, because trembling and astonishment overwhelmed them. And they said nothing to anyone, since they were afraid.

so that you may know the certainty of the things about which you have been instructed.

Meanwhile, the people were waiting for Zechariah, amazed that he stayed so long in the sanctuary.
