The days will come when the man just married will be taken from them. Then they will not eat food so they can pray better.

He told His followers to have a small boat ready for Him because so many people might push Him down.

He had healed so many that the sick people were pushing in on Him. They were trying to put their hands on Him.

He picked out twelve followers to be with Him so He might send them out to preach.

Jesus began to teach by the sea-shore again. Many people gathered around Him. There were so many He had to get into a boat and sit down. The people were on the shore.

Some seed fell among rocks. It came up at once because there was so little ground.

Their roots are not deep so they live only a short time. When sorrow and trouble come because of the Word, they give up and fall away.

But the cares of this life let thorns come up. A love for riches and always wanting other things let thorns grow. These things do not give the Word room to grow so it does not give grain.

After it is put in the ground, it grows and becomes the largest of the spices. It puts out long branches so birds of the sky can live in it."

He said to His followers, "Why are you so full of fear? Do you not have faith?"

Then Jesus let them do what they wanted to do. So they went into the pigs. The pigs ran fast down the side of the mountain and into the sea and died. There were about 2,000.

He went in and asked them, "Why is there so much noise and crying? The girl is not dead. She is sleeping."

So Jesus could do no powerful works there. But He did put His hands on a few sick people and healed them.

So she went to her house and found the demon was gone and her daughter was lying on the bed.

They were very much surprised and wondered about it. They said, "He has done all things well. He makes those who could not hear so they can hear. He makes those who could not speak so they can speak."

His clothes did shine. They were as white as snow. No one on earth could clean them so white.

So they kept those words to themselves, talking to each other about what He meant by being raised from the dead.

The demon gave a cry. It threw the boy down and came out of him. The boy was so much like a dead man that people said, "He is dead!"

He said to them, "The only way this kind of demon is put out is by prayer and by going without food so you can pray better."

The two will become one. So they are no longer two, but one.
