So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: "So I swore in My wrath,'They shall not enter My rest,' " Psalms 95:11 ">[fn] although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

Because of this he is required as for the people, so also for himself, to offer sacrifices for sins.

So also Christ did not glorify Himself to become High Priest, but it was He who said to Him: "You are My Son,Today I have begotten You." Psalms 2:7 ">[fn]

And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

Even Levi, who receives tithes, paid tithes through Abraham, so to speak,

by so much more Jesus has become a surety of a better covenant.

so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
