So they ordered them to leave the CouncilSanhedrin">[fn] and began to discuss the matter among themselves.

As long as it remained unsold, wasn't it your own? And after it was sold, wasn't the money at your disposal? So how could you have conceived such a thing in your heart? You did not lie to men but to God!"

So the word of Godof the Lord">[fn] continued to spread, and the number of disciples in Jerusalem continued to grow rapidly. Even a large number of priests became obedient to the faith.John 12:42; Acts 12:24; 19:20; Colossians 1:6;">[xr]

So they secretly got some men to say, "We have heard him speaking blasphemous words against Moses and God."1 Kings 21:10,13; Matthew 26:59-60;">[xr]

So he left the country of the Chaldeans and settled in Haran. Then after the death of his father, God had him move to this country where you now live.Genesis 11:31; 12:4-5;">[xr]

So Jacob went down to Egypt. Then he and our ancestors died.Genesis 46:5; 49:33; Exodus 1:6;">[xr]

By shrewdly scheming against our people, he oppressed our ancestors and forced them to expose their infants so that they wouldn't live.Exodus 1:22;">[xr]
