And it was told King David, saying, The LORD has blessed Ober-edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of the LORD. So David went and brought up the ark of the LORD from the house of Ober-edom into the city of David with gladness.

And it was so that when those who bore the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, David sacrificed fat oxen.

So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet.

And he distributed among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, both men and women, to everyone a loaf of bread and a portion of meat and a fine white loaf of bread. So all the people departed everyone to his house.

According to all these words and according to all this vision, so did Nathan the prophet speak to David.

And he defeated the Moabites, making them tie down on the ground, and measured them with a line; and he measured two lines to be put to death and one full line to keep alive. And so the Moabites became Davids servants and brought tribute.

Then Ziba said to the king, Whatever my lord the king commands his servant, so shall your servant do. So Mephibosheth ate bread at the kings table, as one of the kings sons.

So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem; for he ate continually at the kings table; and he was lame in both his feet.

Then said David, I will show kindness to Hanun the son of Nahash, as his father showed kindness to me. So David sent by his servants to comfort him for his father. And Davids servants came to the land of the Ammonites.

And when the Ammonites saw that the Arameans had fled, then they fled also before Abishai and entered into the city. So Joab returned from fighting against the Ammonites and came to Jerusalem.

And when all the kings who were servants of Hadarezer saw that they were defeated before Israel, they made peace with Israel and served them. So the Arameans feared to help the Ammonites any more.

So David sent a messenger and took her; and she came in to him and he lay with her; and that very day she had cleansed herself after her menstruation; and she returned and went to her house.

And David said to Uriah, Remain here today also, and tomorrow I will send you away. So Uriah remained in Jerusalem that day.

So when Joab besieged the city, he assigned Uriah to a place where he knew that valiant men were.

And if the kings wrath rise and he say to you, Why did you approach so near to the city to fight against it? Did you not know that they would shoot from the wall?

So the messenger went and came and told David all that Joab had charged him to say.

So David gathered all the people together and went against Rabbath, and fought against it and took it.

And he said to Amnon, O son of the king why are you so losing weight from day to day? Will you not tell me? And Amnon said to him, I love Tamar, my brother Absaloms sister.

So Amnon lay down and pretended to be sick; and when the king came to see him, Amnon said to the king, Let Tamar my sister come and make me a couple of cakes in my sight that I may eat from her hand.

So Tamar went to her brother Amnons house; and he was lying down. And she took dough and kneaded it and baked cakes.
