and stayed there for three months. When he was about to sail for Syria, a plot was made against him by the Jews, so he decided to go back through Macedonia.Acts 9:23; 23:12; 25:3; 2 Corinthians 11:26;">[xr]

So be alert! Remember that for three years, night and day, I never stopped warning each of you with tears.Acts 19:10;">[xr]

There we found a ship going across to Phoenecia, so we went aboard and sailed away.

So we looked up the disciples and stayed there for seven days. Through the Spirit they kept telling Paul not to go to Jerusalem,Acts 20:23; 21:12;">[xr]

So do what we tell you. We have four men who are under a vow.

So the tribune went and asked Paul,him">[fn] "Tell me, are you a Roman citizen?" "Yes," he said.

The quarrel was becoming violent, and the tribune was afraid that they would tear Paul to pieces. So he ordered the soldiers to go down, take him away from them by force, and bring him into the barracks.

But the son of Paul's sister heard about the ambush, so he came and got into the barracks and told Paul.

So he took him, brought him to the tribune, and said, "The prisoner Paul called me and asked me to bring this young man to you. He has something to tell you."

I wanted to know the exact charge they were making against him, so I had him brought before their Council.Sanhedrin">[fn]Acts 22:30;">[xr]

So the soldiers, in keeping with their orders, took Paul and brought him by night to Antipatris.

But so as not to detain you any further, I beg you to hear us briefly with your customary graciousness.

Felix was rather well informed about the Way, and so he adjourned the trial with the comment, "When Tribune Lysias arrives, I will decide your case."Acts 24:7;">[xr]

At the same time he was hoping to get money from Paul, and so he would send for him frequently to talk with him.Exodus 23:8;">[xr]

"So they came here with me, and the next day without any delay I sat down in the judge's seat and ordered the man to be brought in.Acts 25:6;">[xr]

But Paul appealed his case and asked to be held in prison until the decision of his Majesty. So I ordered him to be held in custody until I could send him to the emperor."

I have nothing reliable to write our Sovereign about him, so I have brought him to all of you,to you (pl.)">[fn] and especially to you, King Agrippa, so that I will have something to write after he is cross-examined.

Then Agrippa said to Paul, "You have permission to speak for yourself." So Paul stretched out his hand and began his defense.
