As when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighbors, says the Lord , so no one shall live there, nor shall anyone settle in her.

So the city was besieged until the eleventh year of King Zedekiah.

On the ninth day of the fourth month the famine became so severe in the city that there was no food for the people of the land.

And the king of Babylon struck them down, and put them to death at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah went into exile out of its land.

So Jehoiachin put aside his prison clothes, and every day of his life he dined regularly at the king's table.

Jerusalem sinned grievously, so she has become a mockery; all who honored her despise her, for they have seen her nakedness; she herself groans, and turns her face away.

So I opened my mouth, and he gave me the scroll to eat.

So I rose up and went out into the valley; and the glory of the Lord stood there, like the glory that I had seen by the river Chebar; and I fell on my face.

As for you, mortal, cords shall be placed on you, and you shall be bound with them, so that you cannot go out among the people;

and I will make your tongue cling to the roof of your mouth, so that you shall be speechless and unable to reprove them; for they are a rebellious house.

For I assign to you a number of days, three hundred ninety days, equal to the number of the years of their punishment; and so you shall bear the punishment of the house of Israel.
